Daisyrae:
A bright smile played on my face as I made my way down the hall and towards my locker. Like any other day, I was walking alone, but I had no problem with that one bit. I liked being alone, I didn't have to worry about anything when I was alone.
I didn't have to think about the concerns of other people. Because I was alone. Once I reached my locker, I did the combination swinging the door open.
So far, today has gone pretty well. I went to my first couple of classes. I had a test in the first one. . .I have a feeling that I did good on this, considering I spent most of the week studying.
It was now time for lunch and I couldn't be more excited. I had packed a couple of cookies last night, from when I was making them with my mom, and I couldn't wait to eat them.
Stuffing my binder and a couple of books into my locker, I pulled out the brown paper bag that held my lunch; along with that, I grabbed my small pink notebook. I always brought this with me during lunch, it was like my spy book.
I'd sit by the tree, eat my lunch and just listen. People would walk by me, having their conversations and if I heard something interesting I'd write it down. There wasn't a real reason for this, it was just something to do to keep my mind busy.
I quickly shut my locker, making my way down the hall towards the cafeteria. There, I would take the back doors to the school parking lot where my favorite tree was. It has been like this ever since Freshmen year. I always ate alone. At first, it bothered me. . .I mean, in middle school, I had a whole bunch of friends, but they all stopped talking to me.
It doesn't bother me anymore, though; I've learned to get over it.
Once I reached the large tree, I took a seat against it. My eyes searched the whole parking lot, there were more people than there were yesterday. I smiled at that, more conversations to write down.
I slowly opened up the brown bag, pulling out the sandwich that I had made last night. It was wrapped up in a sandwich bag so it was still very fresh. I took it out of the bag, cutting it in half and taking a bite out of it, before setting it back down on the wrap.
I smiled slightly as a couple of girls came walking down the walk. They were close enough for me to hear what they were talking about. I watched them closely. From what I could see the girls that were talking were Mari, Monica and some other girl.
I knew Mari and Monica well. They were my closest friends back in middle school, but once high school started, they got all caught up in boys and cheerleading and we didn't hang around much.
They were standing too far for me to hear them clearly but I did get bits and pieces of their conversation.
'Such a fucking whore...' . . .'She needs to stay away from Jason, honestly.' . . . '
