CHRIS' POV

By the time we reached Minneapolis it was 4 am. I looked back and saw that Violet was fast asleep, she'd conked out a couple hours before.

"Dude we need to talk," said Gareth quietly

"I know, I was just hoping we could do this later," I replied

"Well it's later now. What possessed you to bring some random girl with us? What we do is dangerous and she could get hurt, or worse!"

"Don't you think I know that!" I snapped "seriously man stop riding my ass over this."

"I just want to know why,"

I kept looking forward, my hands gripping the steering wheel tightly. "I knew her father and before he died I promised to look after her. "

Gareth looked at me confusedly, "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't feel the need to." And with that I quickly ended the conversation. In the back I heard Violet tossing and turning. She was breathing heavily, almost like she was gasping for air.

"Violet you okay?" I called. There was no response. "Violet!" She shot up, clutching her head, tears in her eyes.

"You okay Violet?" Asked Gareth

"Yeah," she replied almost uncertainly "Yeah I'm fine."

I looked at Gareth and we both knew she was lying.

VIOLET'S POV

I was in a room. I didn't know where it was but it was dark and musty. I was tied to a chair, my arms secured to it by ropes. I true desperately to free myself but it only made the ropes dig in deeper to my skin. Soon blood was slowly pouring out of my wrists.

There was a man standing in front of me. He was medium height, balding on the top and his eyes........those eyes, a deep red colour.

"Violet!" He yelled

My eyes shot open and I sat upright. I was panting, I had an awful headache and I realised that tears were threatening to fall from my eyes. I quickly wiped them away and looked up to see Gareth's worried face staring back at me

"You okay Violet?" He asked

"Yeah," I replied, my voice shaking slightly, "Yeah I'm fine,"

Chris and Gareth both gave me funny looks but I ignored them. I reached over to my bag and got out something for my headache. Then I grabbed a chocolate bar and a bottle of soda.

"So where are we going?" I asked munching on my chocolate.

"Firstly, why didn't you tell me you brought food? That's like the first thing you could've mentioned. And secondly were heading to a friends house to try and take care of a vampire that's causing them trouble." Replied Chris.

"Oh okay," I replied "And I didn't tell you about my food because I knew you would eat it."

"Not fair!"

"We're stopping off in a minute anyway," replied Gareth "There's a fast food place up ahead."

"Nah it's grand we can stop off later. Better get this vampire under control first. " said Chris

After a few minutes we pulled into the parking lot of a motel. I waited in the car while the two lads checked us in. I grabbed my bag and watched as Chris and Gareth grabbed theirs from the trunk.

They popped the hood and my eyes widened. It was covered in weapons. Silver stakes, jars of red liquid (that I hoped wasn't blood) and various other scary looking objects.
