I woke up in a dimly lit room. I tried to sit up but somehow I couldn't move. Nothing was holding me down. Must be some invisible force. Two big doors opened and in came a calm looking man. He was tall with combed brown hair. His glasses sat nimbly on his nose and his mouth in a straight line.

"You came back to reality just in time," he said. "My name is Dr. Kygan."

"What do you want?" I snarled.

"Your power. That's what I want. I want the power of the girl with the flaming hair." he said quoting the prophecy. "If I had that power, I could rule the world, no, the universe. I would be king." He walked over to me. "So, I will take it from you."

"How? How would you take it from me?" I growled at him.

"I will place this fluid in your blood," he began, showing me a needle with yellow liquid inside, "which will make your hair go on fire. Then the machine you are stranded on will absorb all of that energy or power and store it in this tube." He pointed over to a large tube that had wires sprouting out from every place. "Oh and don't worry, it will only hurt...a lot. In fact, it will kill you. Then, I won't have to worry about you destroying my plan, not that you could anyway. I could've used you to be my minion by making you bad, but I'll use your little friend for that."

Fye! "Where is he?" I said. "Where is he?!" I screamed.

"Oh, your friend? Well, he came to watch the show." With that, a curtain opened. Fye was tied down on a chair. An ender stood behind him with a gun. Fye immediately looked up. When he saw me, he began to struggle. The ender slapped him, causing him to stop. "Fye!" I called.

"Spirit!"

I tried to free myself as Dr. Kygan came at me with the large needle. "Don't touch her! Let her go!" cried Fye. Dr. Kygan just smiled as he stabbed the needle deep into my neck. I cringed as the fluid poured into my veins. My hair began to turn to flames when he pulled the needle out of my neck.

I could feel the machine sucking the power from my body. I screamed in agony. It felt like a million knifes were being stuck into my body in once stab. I writhed on the machine, trying to free myself from the invisible bonds that held me to the table.

"Spirit!" screeched Fye. "Spirit, no!"

I arched my back as another spasm of pain shuddered through me. A series of gunshots exploded through the room. Still I lay screaming from the pain. I couldn't see what was going on.

My struggles began to get weaker. Suddenly, Fye was standing next to me, looking frantic; panic covered his face. I breathed heavy as I looked at Fye. I arched my back once again and screamed. my body began to convulse. I got weaker and weaker. My body felt like it was turning into a liquid as numbness fell over me. Fye started slamming a chair at the glass tube that held the my missing power.

A crash erupted as glass splattered all over the floor. Inside the glass tube was another. I watched as Fye unhooked it, turning off the machine in the process.

"Spirit!" I barely heard him as he screamed my name, urging me to stand. Giving up, he scooped me into his arms, still holding on to the tube, and ran out of the room. He carried me through halls, bumping into white lab coated people. I continued to go in and out of consciousness as we sprinted down the stairs. I finally blacked out when he opened the doors to reveal the outside world.

"How could I let this happen?" whispered a voice, full of sorrow and pain. "This is all my fault. I was the one who yelled, I made her upset, I let her go for a walk. I should have gone with her." I felt a hand stroking my hair. I tried to awake, to open my eyes, but it felt as though they were glued shut. I tried to move but everything felt too heavy.
