I fell to the ground with a thud. Why did she do that? I got up and went over to her. "Why did you..." I stopped short when I saw a sucker sticking out of her chest. No! She stumbled and fell to the ground. "Spirit! No!" I saw power escaping her and heading to Dr. Kygan, who excepted it without protest.

"No," whispered Soulia, who was standing with Mark, bruised and cut. The other 2 keepers, Arianna and Sarah, gasped as they saw what happened.

"Spirit!" I cried. "Stay with me! I'm right here. Stay with me." I watched as her face faded to pale and her hand turned cold. When the last breath left her body, I let out a wale of sorrow. Mark came up to me and sat beside me, giving me silent comfort. Soulia put her arm around my shoulder as she cried herself.

"Th-this can't be happening," I said.

It was silent for a few seconds more until Soulia said, "What's that? Is that a life crystal?"

I put my hand to my neck and felt the crystal. Suddenly, I ripped it off and stood up. Mark and Soulia stood back not knowing what I was doing. I looked at Spirit once more before I slammed the crystal down next to her head. A bright light emanated from the crystal, making me turn away and shield my eyes. When I looked back, I saw Spirit sitting up. I ran to her.

"Spirit!" I threw myself on her. I landed on top of her, kissing her. She kissed back with lots of passion, the passion of someone who hasn't seen someone for a long time. When I pulled away, we were both gasping for air.

"Well, I hate to break up the reunion, but..." Dr. Kygan said as thousands of Enders came into view, "...it's time to begin." I laughed stood up, helping Spirit to her feet. Mark and Soulia stood on one side of Spirit while Arianna, Sarah, and I stood on the other.

"Well then," said Spirit confidently, "let's finish this beginning." Soulia took the tube that contained the power Dr. Kygan once stole from her before, and smashed it to the ground. It shattered as Spirit's power floated from the tube and into Spirit's body.

"It's not going to be easy," Dr. Kygan said as a hundred monsters came up behind the Enders. I gave mark an uneasy look. Without even being told, the Enders and the monsters came charging toward us all at once.

"Stay back," Spirit said. I noticed her hair begin to turn to flames. Knowing that the others don't know what Spirit can do, I shuffled them backwards and told Mark to make a wall of water to block us. Without objection, he did as he was told, created a clear wall of water. They all looked surprised to see Spirit's hair. Just before the Enders and monsters reached her, she blasted fire all around her, burning the first couple of rows and a few of the monsters.

When the fire died down, we ran together with Spirit into battle.
