"What!" I screamed. "What do you mean that you are the keeper of water?" I looked into his eyes. He took his strong hands and placed them on my shoulders.
"I can't explain how it happened. I don't really know how it happened." I looked down at my feet. Mark took his hand and lightly lifted my chin so he could see my face. "I-I hope this doesn't change anything," Mark whispered.
"Why would you think this would change anything?" I asked, allowing my gaze to soften.
"Because I thought you wouldn't like me anymore. I mean, now you know I have a power greater than anyone that aren't part of the four." Mark smiled weakly.
"That's impossible. I could never not like you. I mean, I..." I was cut off when Mark wrapped his arms around me, pressing his lips to mine. They were soft and salty, like chocolate. I smiled up at him as he pulled away. "I have been waiting for you to do that," I said breathlessly.
