(Song: Keep This Place Beautiful by Brick + Mortar)

"I'm so sorry, Cecil." Carlos cried into Cecil's hands. He had returned to the hospital and was apologizing to Cecil for running out. "I'm so sorry."

"It's okay." Cecil said. He smiled.

"No it's not." Carlos argued. "I shouldn't have ran away like that. I should have stayed here with you. I'm sorry." Carlos hung his head. Cecil stroked his hair.

"It is okay, Carlos" Cecil smiled at Carlos. But then he looked up and frowned. He had cancer, something Carlos was obviously going to worry about. And if he had cancer...

"Carlos." Cecil said sternly. Carlos looked up.

"Yes?"

"Come here." Cecil scooted over, making a space on the bed for Carlos.

"What are you doing?" Carlos asked worriedly. Cecil grabbed Carlos' shirt, pulled him over, and kissed him. Carlos' knee was digging into Cecil's side. Carlos kissed him back. Cecil ran his hands through Carlos' hair, ignoring the tug of the tubes in his chest. Cecil slid off Carlos' shirt and kissed his neck. "Cecil--" Carlos started to say, but then Cecil looked at him with his sad, purple eyes. Carlos looked away, smiled, and kissed Cecil. "I can't take off your shirt. The tubes will get in the way."

"That's fine." Cecil said. He looked sad. He hugged Carlos. Carlos could feel tears on his neck. "I love you." Cecil said.

"I love you too." Cecil's glasses were on the nightstand next to the hospital bed. Cecil reached to take off Carlos' glasses, but his arm was pulled back by a clear tube. Carlos laughed.

"I can't do anything with these tubes in my arms." Cecil joked.

"Well, you can still do some things..." Carlos trailed off. All of a sudden the door swung open, filling the dark room with light. A nurse in blue scrubs and a light sapphire shirt stood in the doorway with a bewildered look. Her face turned red as she saw Cecil and Carlos. She gasped for something to say, but her mouth hung open in a red-lipped "o".

"Um..I-I don't think..." She stopped herself and adjusted the clipboard in the crook of her elbow. Carlos' face burned a dark maroon and Cecil froze. "I'm sorry." She said suddenly and quickly reached to shut the door, encasing the two in darkness. Cecil immediately burst out laughing. Carlos reached for his glasses and shirt.

"Did you SEE her face?! Ha ha ha! She was so--" Cecil began to hyperventilate and choke on his laughs. Carlos pulled down his shirt and glared at Cecil.

"That wasn't funny."

"Yes it was." Cecil wiped a non-existent tear away from his eye. Carlos glared at him in the dim light. Cecil reached up and touched Carlos' cheek. "You're blushing." Carlos smacked his hand away. He was silent. Cecil watched for a change in his expression but found none. "Admit it." Cecil finally said.

"What."

"You liked it." Cecil's lips curled into a smile. Carlos didn't respond. "You're just upset because we got caught."

"It was your idea." Carlos grumbled. He smoothed back his hair and adjusted his shirt.

"But you liked it." Cecil responded.

"I'm not going to admit anything."

"But it's true." Cecil said. Carlos glared at him with an icy stare.

"Shut up, Cecil." Carlos blushed.

Cecil laughed again.
