"The next thing I know, I wake up in the hospital. Then, my parents told me we were moving and well, here I am. In the hospital again except this time, no one else is here but me." Cassiel finishes and releases a deep breath that he mustn't have noticed he held.
It all makes sense now. Why he was so reluctant to talk about his past from his last school. He suffered through so much hell that he had a moment of complete darkness and tried to kill himself. Those American football players should be ashamed for putting Cassiel through that much misery. If I ever learn their names, they better pray to God I don't come after them.
Wait, what of his ex partner's well being? He never did told me what happened to him. I thought and return my attention to Cassiel who's staring at me, probably thinking what is going on in my head. "Cassiel? What happened to this Austin fellow?" I tentatively ask. Cassiel's body stiffens at the mention of Austin's name. Does this mean he has passed?
"Austin...... Austin's in a coma...... When I woke up..... I-I asked my parents how he was d-doing..... And they said that the doctor told them he was in a coma b-but that.... It's really unlikely that he would..... Th-that he would ever.... Wake up again...." Cassiel answers with tears slowly cascading down his pale cheeks.
I couldn't stand to see Cassiel cry like this, especially when I brought him up. I leaned towards him and gently wiped away his tears. His body tenses a little while he tilts his head to face me. A small smile forms on my lips as I cleared away his tears and has stopped forming but I don't remove my hands from his face. I keep them on his cheeks, each cupping his face as though I was cradling it.
"I'm sorry for bringing him up. I didn't know that it would bring you to tears." I apologize.
Without even thinking about it, I place a chaste kiss on his forehead. I think my reason behind this kiss is because Cassiel is the sort of person that needs physical affections to be truly relaxed. Either way, it works great because he visibly relaxes his tensed body after I gave him that peck. I wish I could stay with him like this for awhile longer but I can't postpone telling the doctor of him waking up any further.
I began to detach myself from Cassiel but he wraps his arms around my neck, preventing me from moving. "N-no! Don't leave me alone, please...." He pleads, bringing a pang in my heart at the sound of his desperate voice.
"I'm not going to leave you alone for long. I'm going to go tell the doctor that you're awake then I'll come back. But I need to step outside your room for a second. Will you be alright being by yourself for a little while?" I assure with a light pat on his back.
"Yeah..... I guess so..... But you're coming back?" Cassiel questions in a small voice. My god, he's cute.....
"Yes, I'll come back. You try to rest until I return and we can talk about whatever you want." I propose as I finally liberate myself from his grip.
Cassiel didn't try to stop me but he keeps his eyes on me the entire time. I straighten my posture and rested my hand on his cheek. His eyes widen while his cheeks start to turn red. Do I make him blush? Does he have feelings for me? What am I saying, of course he does! He kissed me!
"Could we talk about you this time?" Cassiel suggests, his head tilting down to his lap where his hands began to fiddle with each other.
A smile grows on my face at his adorableness that I find myself tilting his chin up and gave his forehead a soft kiss. I heard him release a gasp as I pull away from him and notice his cheeks were redder than before. "Whatever you want, Cassiel. If you want to know more about me, then I'll tell you anything you want to know." I promise and give his nose a peck.
