Blind Date

Chapter 15

After Cameron left, Sara came out of my room with Jeremiah.

"Are you ready to leave?" I asked Sara. She nodded. I went to the phone and called dad. John answered.

Hey, John. Put dad on the phone, okay?

Dad, I'm going to the hospital with Sara and her brother. Her dad had a seizure and he passed out. I probably won't be home when you get here.

Love you, too.

Okay, bye.

I hung up.

"The only problem is, I don't know how to get there. We can't drive. What do we do?" I turned to Sara.

"We can get a ride from your neighbors. I've met them, they're pretty nice." Sara replied.

"They are pretty nice, and they owe my dad and me because we paid their water bill." I put my cell phone in my pocket and Sara and I went outside. We knocked on my neighbors' door.

A few minutes later, we were in a car with my neighbor, Daniel Brandson, driving to the hospital. Jeremiah was with our neighbors, and they were taking care of him while we were at the hospital.

"I'm awfully sorry about your dad. I hope he gets better." Mr. Brandson looked back at Sara and me through the mirror.

"Thank you, for driving us to the hospital and for your concern." Sara replied with an exhausted smile.

When we got to the hospital, we went to the counter and we were lead to the hospital room Sara's dad was in. The nurse opened the door, and we walked in. Her dad was out cold.

"Oh, dad! Thank goodness you're alright. Please stay with me, please." Sara was aware that her dad could not hear her or see her, but she hugged him and closed her eyes tight. "I don't know what I will do if anything happens to you." just then a machine started going off, and nurses and doctors rushed into the room.

"Dad! No!" Sara started crying, and a doctor tried pulling her out of the room, "no, I have to stay with him! Please!" those were her last words before we got shoved into the hallway.
