I received a call from McDonald's yesterday, and I got the job. I start today, Sunday, but I was sure to let them know I can't work from six to ten in the evening, and they said that was fine. When I got there, the manager gave me the clothing and hat I was supposed to wear, and I started training.
"Okay, first, I'll show you how to make French fries. Follow me." said Jeremiah, the guy that was training me. I followed him. It took awhile for me to remember how to do everything, but I got the hang of it faster than some of the others.
When I was completely done in training, they let me work for real.
"Hello! What can I get you?" someone was ordering in the drive thru.
"Well, I'm thinking a free order for your family." it was dad.
"Dad, you know I can't do that. What can I really get you?"
"One big mac, one double cheeseburger, two medium fries, and two chocolate milk shakes, please." dad ordered. I told him how much money he was supposed to pay and all of that, and he drove up to the first window. I saw John in the passenger's seat and grinned at him.
"Hey, little bro, is the big mac for you or dad?" I teased.
"Oh, it's definitely for me." John replied sarcastically. I took dad's money and put it in the cash register, then he drove off to the next window.

"It's nice out here, don't you think?" I said, looking over at Cameron, who was walking me home from Church.
"I don't know. It feels nice, it sounds nice, and it probably looks nice." Cameron joked."I'm sorry, I forgot." I giggled, and Cameron laughed right with me.
"It's okay. I got you something for your seventeenth birthday tomorrow. I couldn't wait until tomorrow to give it to you. Mom picked it out." Cameron slipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out a small black necklace case. He opened it so I could see what was inside. It was a real diamond necklace, with my name on it. It was shiny, and it looked completely new.
"Oh, Cameron! This must've cost a fortune! You didn't have to, really. I don't feel right accepting this." I pushed it away.
"Jennette, I want you to have it. My family is very wealthy. I bought it for you because you're special to me. I don't know why, but I've liked you ever since we awkwardly met in the hallway at school. There's just something about you that I can't get over. I want to make you happy, but I want our relationship to be Christ centered. I feel like God moved me here for a reason, and I think that reason is so I would meet you. I really think it's God's plan for us to be together. I've prayed about it a lot." he gave me one of his long paragraphs.
"Thank you, Cameron. You're the kind of person anyone would instantly fall in love with. I'm glad I got you before anyone else could snatch you up." we both laughed. He took my hand and we walked to my house, and then his mom came and picked him up. I opened the door and John was waiting for me.
"Well, what did he get you?" John asked.
"You little spy!" I ruffled his hair.
"What? I had nothing else to do." he smirked. I rolled my eyes and went to the kitchen. I opened the refrigerator and took out my Gatorade bottle. I went to my room and lied down on my bed. Today was a tiring day. Work, shopping with Sara, Church, walking with Cameron, homework later. Life was stressful. But tomorrow was my birthday and I wanted to have a good day, so, I was going to try to keep it together, for Sara, for John, for my dad.
