I look down and the cables get tighter trapping my fingers between them. I look down and see Mike struggling getting the emergency hatch open to get into the elevator. I look up.

"Go open the other exits!" I yell up at them.

"Where?" The man yells.

"On the other floors!" I shriek. The elevator slowly reaches me and I jump off the cable ant onto the moving elevator beneath me.

"I have a plan." I declare, trying to get my balance.

"Mike help me!" I try to pick up Lily. I grab her feet and Mike grabs her arms.

"We need to swing Lily out of that opening." I say starting to swing her.

"Why?" Lindsay asks.

"Because were on top of the elevator and if we go to the end of its route-" Mike interrupts.

"We die." He says. We start swinging Lily back and fourth. We approach the door.

"Back up!" I yell.

"We have to do it now!" Mike nods.

"What about us?" Lindsay says panicking.

"Now!" I yell and me and Mike lets go of Lily at the same time as me and she flies out of the opening on the second floor.

I look up and see the third floor door open. The elevator moves faster.

"Lindsay you go next!" I yell. More light enters the elevator shaft from the fourth and fifth floor openings, revealing more of the shaft then I could see before.

There is a large cement wall at the top of the elevator shaft where, if we don't get out of here, would be our final destination.

"No no no!" Lindsay yells falling to the floor. We approach the third floor opening.

"Lindsay you have to go now!" I yell.

"Ill try." She whispers. We get to the opening and she dives out landing flat on her stomach in the carpeted hallway.

"You got to go next Mike!" I declare.

"What about you!" He yells getting ready to jump.

"I'll get off next." I say. He prepares to jump as we reach the fourth floor. He lands on his knees and lets out a screetch. I look up and see the elevator route come to an end and I see myself not making it out of here. The elevator picks up speed. I prepare to jump as the elevator speeds to the fifth floor.

I jump, for a moment I float there thinking about Lily. Did they take her yet? Is she going to be ok? This is all my fault. I frown. I land on my stomach and the elevator zoom into the cieling and I hear a big bang. I watch as scrap metal from the elevator I was just on falls to the ground floor.

"Thank you." I whisper to the man on the floor who opened the door.

"Lily." I whisper. I run to the stairs, passing each floor to see if everyones ok. Mike. He's fine, people came out of their apartments to clap for him. Lindsay. She's freaking out. Lily. Where is she? I pass the second floor, no sign of her.

"Where's Lily?" I ask the hotel manager once I reach the ground floor.

"She in the ambulance." He says. I run outside hoping they havnt left yet and to my luck they havn't. I bang on the back of the ambulance and a paramedic opens the door and lets me in.

"Are you Jen?" He asks.

"Yea. How is she?" I ask.

"It was pretty brave what you did back there for everybody." He smiles.

"Yeah I know." I say putting my hand on Lily's neck checking for a pulse.

"No need to check, shes doing well." He says.

"What do you mean? Shes covered in cuts." I say.

"They aern't that major except this one on her thigh." He says, pulling up a blanket showing me her now stitched incision.

"She couldn't have gotten that, she must have done it to herself." The man says, looking at her other scars.

"You stitched her." I whisper. He hears me.

"Yea it was the least I could do for her. Its gunna hurt for the next few days." He says.

"I would think so." I say, examining her cut. He smiles.

"Were gunna take off now." The man in the front of the ambulance yells for us to hear. The paramedic sits down beside the stretcher and puts on his seatbelt.

"Where do I sit?" I ask, looking around.

"There." He points to a seat across from him and the stretcher. I sit down and do up my belt. The car moves as we back out of the parking lot and onto the street.

"How long do you think she needs?" I ask, staring at her.

"For what?" He asks me.

"Till she can go back to her daily routines." I say.

"Huh?" He asks.

"I mean leave the hospital." I state.

"Well in her current stare I'd say no less than a week- I'd think ten days with my experience." He says. I frown.

"I could be wrong right?" He mutters trying to comfort me.

'I guess" I whisper. The ambulance makes a sharp turn.

The next few minutes go by fast. I sit there and shift from left to right as the ambulance turns, listening to the siren on top of the ambulance makes the same sounds over and over again.

"You ok?" The man asks.

"Yea I'm fine." I say with a smile. He smiles back and the ambulance stops.

"Are you sure?" He asks. "You look uncertain about something."

"I'm sure." I yell, frustrated by the fact that none of this would've happened if I just left her alone.

"Ok I was just trying to make you feel better." He looks away.

"Sorry." I whisper. More minutes of silence goes by.

"How far is this hospital?" I ask.

"Only a few more minutes, shouldn't be much longer." He smiles.

"Ok." I say. I look for my purse and realize I left it in Lily's apartment. Shit. I say to myself. I'll have to go back. I whisper.

The ambulance makes a sharp turn and stops. The man in the front of the ambulance jumps out and opens the back door as we take off our seat belts

"Help me with her." He says to the other man, starting to pull out the stretcher. When they finally get it out I follow them into the hospital.

"Doctor." They ask at the front desk. I hear them page Dr Fidelle to the front desk and he gets there in a matter of seconds.

"What happened here?" He asked putting on his stethoscope. He bends over and puts the end on several parts of Lily's body.

"This girl went to her apartment and she fell on glass, someone had removed it before we got to her." One of the men say.

"Then whats the problem?" He asks, taking the stethoscope off. He puts it around his neck.

"We found this on her thigh. And these." He says pulling up a blanket, allowing air to her stitched wound which is now bleeding.

"I see." He says.

"Get her up to room 37 and hook her on IV." The doctor demands. The men nod and take her to the elevator. I follow. They pass a door that says employees only and a man stops me as I try and follow them.

"I'm sorry ma'am, doctors and paramedics only." He says and walks away.
