The moment [Y/N] reached home, she went to her room and looked at the body-sized mirror at the side. She wasn't mistaken. She really could see yellow. She gently grabbed her hoodie's material and stared at it. "I'm not dreaming, am I?" First blue, now yellow. What's next? For some reason, [Y/N] felt anxious of what colour she might see next. She immediately laid on her bed and stared at her ceiling. It still looked grey.
"I wonder what colour my room is," She muttered to herself. "But the main question is: Why only now?" Of all times she could see colours, why now? Why not when she was still young, or the future? Did she see something? Did her conscious end up bringing her to meet with her soulmate? No, that's impossible. The whole world knows who she was. And she saw no one different, except for Kuroo, "But he's probably some playboy. He must've met his long time ago." [Y/N] decided to dismiss those thoughts and went to sleep.
"You can see colours?!?" Sakura whispered almost too loudly.
"Shh!! Calm down, geez." [Y/N] looked away and slumped on her chair.
"But how can I?" Sakura continued to whisper, "You, the Colourless Moonster, can see colours! Who wouldn't be surprised??"
The following day, [Y/N] decided to tell Sakura after school that she could see them. Hopefully, she wouldn't go around spreading it. She also told her the colours she could see and ever since when.
"No wonder you been staring at the sky for god knows how long! Oh my god, this is amazing. I feel so proud of you, [Y/N]! I never thought the day would come when you would actually be able to see colours! And you're favourite one too!" She continued to ramble on about how happy she felt for [Y/N] but suddenly stopped when she realised something, "But wait, in the first place, how can you even see colours? Did you see your soulmate or something?"
"That's the thing, Fujinuma. I don't know. It just happened a few days ago. When it rained." [Y/N] let out a heavy sigh.
"Aw, that's too bad. But don't worry, you'll find out the reason soon!" She patted [Y/N] on the back, "By the way, Lev's having a match against this really strong team. Do you wanna--"
"No."
"Ahaha," Sakura let out a shaky laugh and sweatdropped, "Knew it. Well, I gotta go then. His match is starting soon and I don't wanna miss it." She got up from her chair and was about to leave the classroom when [Y/N] stopped her.
"Uhm, actually. I was thinking, you know, since you've been such a good...f-friend and all," It was super awkward for [Y/N] to say it, "A-After your boyfriend's match, you wanna, uh, w-w-walk home? I can wait for you." She trailed off at the end. "I-If you don't want to though, it's fine! I'll just--"
"Of course!" Sakura grabbed [Y/N]'s hand and shook it all around, "I can't believe my precious [Y/N]'s finally going out of her comfort zone! I'll meet you outside the gym after their match, okay? See you!" And she just dashed right out of the classroom and headed towards the gym.
[Y/N] just sat there and stared at the walls in shock. "Oh, they're blue too." She whispered to herself. She was actually quite glad Sakura didn't really turn it to such a huge thing. Because honestly, [Y/N] didn't care anymore. She didn't want any more attention than she already had. She was constantly being stabbed by their cruel words, she didn't want any more words stabbed into her. Neither did [Y/N] want to prove them wrong by bragging that she could now see colours. It might be good for her reputation, but she couldn't be bothered. She didn't think anyone will.
"Guess I'll just do my homework for now." She took out a few sheets of paper, some notebooks, her phones, earpiece, and started on her homework. Since most of them were English, it was relatively easy to her. Like it or not, her father used to be an English teacher at Harvard University. After her father left, she realised that he left a bunch of his teaching books behind. Since her mother couldn't bother to pay for any book she wanted, [Y/N] decided to read her father's one. And although at a small age, she could understand it. She could fluently speak English by the time she was 11. But [Y/N] never bragged about it. Because then people would say things like, "Maybe that's why he left you. Because you can't even understand what you're saying." So she kept that fact hidden. And hopefully forever.
As she was doing homework, she heard the front door slide open. Her head shot up as she saw a familiar face walk to his desk.
"Hm?" The both of them made eye contact with each other. "Oh, it's you." The yellow-haired student said as he took his video game console from under his table.
"Ah, you're the one from yesterday. Uhm.."
"Kenma. Kenma Kozume."
"Oh, yeah. Didn't know you were in my class. By the way, uh, where's Kuroo?"
"He's playing. Gotta go, bye." And he left running.
'Playing? As in playing with girls? Oh god.' was what she thought. 'Never knew he was in my class. Heh, what a small world. He was wearing something other than our uniform. Was that a jersey? Ah, I could care less. Hmm, Sakura should be done in about 30 minutes. I've done all my homework. I think i'll just meet up with her now. Nothing to do anyways.' [Y/N] got up from her seat and streched a bit. She gathered all her things and left the classroom as well. While going down the stairs, she noticed the blue sky staring back at her through the window. Her lips formed a small curved as she continued to walk to the gym.
When she was outside the acedemic building, she noticed something slightly different. The sky looked more... vibrant. And the flowers on the grasspatch really stood out for some reason. It only occured now, so [Y/N] slowed down to look at both colours and just treasure the moment. Her heart was slightly warmed up as she got closer to the gym. She could hear the faint footsteps of the squeaky shoes and a few shouts here and there. But none really stood out to her. When she was at their entrance, she looked back at the blue sky and the bright yellow flowers. They stood out even more.
"Huh, weird." She muttered before taking a peak inside the gym. Her eyes suddenly widened and her jaw dropped. Then, she heard a cheer from an all-too-familiar voice. Kuroo. Her face quickly turned to look at him and saw him in his jersey talking to Kenma.
"Oh, so that's what he meant by 'playing'." [Y/N] facepalmed. She was just peeking through the entrance, so no one saw her. For the next 30minutes, [Y/N] was just staring at the nekoma boys playing volleyball against another school. "So he plays volleyball, huh." She also spotted Lev and Sakura, but didn't pay much attention to them
The match ended, Nekoma won. A very loud Sakura cheered on her boyfriend while [Y/N] decided to be courageous for once and step inside the gym, clapping for the victory of the team.
"Oh? If it isn't [L/N]-san!" Kuroo spotted her from afar and went over to her.
"Shit." She tried to turn and run away, but Sakura somehow also noticed her and pulled her for a hug. "C-Can't breathe." [Y/N] struggled to say.
"Oh, sorry [Y/N]! Great, you're here! Just on time, too!" Sakura lets [Y/N] go and brought her further in the gym to introduce her to everyone. Apparently she was all friends with the volleyball members.
'Just in time? Hahaha you thought.' She mentally laughed. Each time Sakura introduced her to a volleyball member, her eyes would suddenly grow big for a moment, as if she was looking at the world in her palm. But there would be a mix of reactions from the volleyball players. Some would smile, while others gave a slightly disgusted look. 'They know I'm the Colourless Monster, don't they?' A small frown formed on her face as she passed by each member. Sakura introduced the captain last, so obviously Kuroo was the last to be introduced. When they finally reached Kuroo, he was the first to actually speak to them. But for some reason, he seemed shocked for a moment when he saw you. He was staring at your tie for a minute before he spoke.
"Y-Yo, [L/N]-san! Didn't know you were Sakura's friend."
'Didn't know I even had any. Was that what you wanted to say?' [Y/N] frowned some more.
Their conversations were short and brief because [Y/N] really wanted to go home. Feeling sad, Sakura waved a good-bye to her boyfriend and the rest of the people before walking home with [Y/N]. As the two were walking home, [Y/N] was staring at the road absent-mindedly, like she was in deep thought.
"Hey, Fujinuma?"
"Yeah?" Sakura chirped.
"I think..." [Y/N] stopped walking and looked at Sakura, a tear forming in her eyes.
"...I can see red."
