“I’m not really sure if I more nervous than excited or more excited than nervous.” I said smiling up at Jared

“Well I’m sure you are going to do great. Better than great, you’re going to Ace it.” He said before leaning down and kissing my cheek.

“You really think so?” I asked turning to face him.

“I know so. Everything you do is perfect because you are perfect!” He said pushing some hair from my face.

“No I’m not.” I said shaking my head.

“Yes you are. You are the most beautiful, funny, caring, perfect person I have ever met in my whole life. Now you go in there and you present the hell out of that project.” He said before leaning down and pressing his lips to mine before I could protest. I pulled back smiling.

“I love you!” I said beaming.

“I love you more!” He said rubbing my cheek.

“I love you most!” I replied poking his nose.

“I love you mostest!” He replied childlike, causing me to laugh.

“Ok babe, you win.” I said laughing.

“Yay! Anyways, I’ll see you after class.” He said before pecking my lips and walking away. I walked into the art room and Chase was nowhere to be found. I stared at the door waiting for him to walk through the door. Ding, Ding, Ding. The bell rang and he still wasn’t in the class. No, no, no! I pulled out my phone and texted him.

Where the hell are you? I texted him.

Don’t worry Kitty, I’ll be there. Just running a little late. He replied. Ugh! I groaned before shoving my phone back in my pocket. Sometimes I really hate this kid. Soon enough Chase came walking in the class with his signature smirk. It was as if he did not just walk in class late. He slipped Mrs. Riley a note before sliding into the seat next to me.

“Sorry I’m late Kitty, but I had some business to attend to.” He said before winking at me. “Oh, Tink and the guys said hi.” He added before turning his attention to the front of the class. The first group had begun to present. We were the last group to present. We got our board and went up to the front of the class. I set up the board before turning to the class.

“I’m Ashely Woods.” I said smiling.

“I’m Chase Sparks.” Chase said smirking.

“And the title of our project is ‘The World Through Our Eyes’” I said pointing to the title.

“We came across the idea of the project when I took a look through a pair of her emergency glasses. We’re obviously different people and we have different ways of life.” Chase said pointing to the both of us.

“We took pictures of our lives and separated them. This side of the board is my life and the other side of the board is Chase’s life.” I said pointing to both sides of the board.

“And in the middle is where the both of our lives came together. It just shows that no matter how different people are and how different their lives are, there is some common ground.” Chase added.

“Over the course of this project, Chase and I became really close friends. We learned about each other’s lives and realized we had more stuff in common than stuff that made us different.” I said looking over at him.

“Also, I learned that you shouldn’t judge a book by the cover because there’s a lot of things between the line you haven’t discovered yet.” He said looking down at me.
