It’s been 2 weeks, 4 days and 14 hours since the argument. Em and I finally made up. She came over to my house this morning saying how she couldn’t stand us not talking. She apologized for starting the argument and saying all those things. I apologized for being a horrible friend to the point where she even thought those things. We promised never ever to fight like that again. I love her. I can believe we stayed mad at each other for so long. That horrible.

Anyways, she left because I told her I was feeling really sick. In reality I’m just really hung over. I went to a party with Chase and the crew last night. It was awesome. A beach bonfire in the middle of the night, with stars, booze and good friends. What more can you ask for? It was perfect. Except for the fact that I got completely wasted and woke up this morning with a banging hangover. Oh well. I’ll get over it. I mean, it’s not my first hangover. I’ll just pop a couple of aspirins and it’ll wear off in an hour or so.

My grumbling stomach regained my attention. I groaned, not wanting to get out of bed to search for something to eat. I rolled out of bed and planted my feet on the floor. I began my painful journey down the stairs to the kitchen. Every step sent painful shots to my head.

I decided to make a stop to the bathroom before continuing my journey downstairs. I opened the medicine cabinet and got three aspirin tablets. I got some water from the pipe and swallowed them down in one big gulp. I quickly washed my face and brushed my teeth before walking out and going downstairs. Stairs are always the worst during hangovers. I finally reached the bottom of my, seemingly forever, staircase. I turned and entered the kitchen. I saw my mother sitting at the small round table with a cup of coffee firmly placed in her hand.

“I’ve been waiting for you.” She said, her eyes not leaving her book.

“Um, good morning to you too mom.” I said slowly before walking to the fridge.

“Can we talk?” She asked stopping me from getting the egg carton.

“Um, sure.” I said slowly turning around. “About what?” I asked finally facing her.

“You…” She said, lifting her eyes to meet mine. “Sit down.” She said pointing to the chair in front of her.

“Me?” I asked walking towards the chair.

“Yes. You.” She said slowly nodding.

“What about me?” I asked sitting down and crossing my arms out in front of me.

“You’re behavior.” She said sternly.

“My behavior…” I said confused.

“Yes, your behavior.” She said her jaw clenching.

“Ok mom, what’s wrong with my behavior?” I asked, restraining from rolling my eyes.

“Everything. You have been acting different these days.” She said closing her book and resting it on the table.

“No I haven’t.” I said furrowing my eyebrows.

“Yes you have. You’ve been…” She started but I cut her off.

“Fine. I’ve been fine! Perfectly freaking fine!” I said crossing my arms.

“May I remind you about what has been going on lately. You skipped school, you’re going to parties every weekend, you’re getting into fights with your friends, and you dumped your perfect boyfriend of a year and not even a week later started going out with that Chase kid, and from the looks of it he doesn’t seem like a person doing the right things Ashely.” She said slightly raising her voice.

“Are you serious right now? You’re going to bring those things up?” I asked appalled. “You don’t even know…” I started but she cut me off.
