The whole day Chase wasn’t at school. I was beginning to worry. I mean, Jared couldn’t have possibly hurt him that bad, could he? I mean Jared could’ve punched Chase in the head so hard he would’ve gotten a concussion. That couldn’t happen. I was overthinking this whole situation. He’s a bad boy. He’s known for skipping school and doing dumb shit like that. Maybe that’s what he’s doing. He’s just skipping school and I’ll be able to see him again tomorrow. I bumped into someone and my books fell to the ground in front of me. What a great fucking way to end the day. I bent down to pick up my stuff, but the person I bumped into beat me to the punch. They gathered all my stuff into their hands before standing back up fully.

“Here you go.” His voice mumbled quietly.

“Thanks.” I mumbled before looking up. “Jared.” I whispered as I saw his face.

“Ashely.” He muttered back with a slight happy tone.

“I- um… thanks Jared.” I said before beginning to walk away. He took my arm and spun me back to face him. I couldn’t look up in his big brown orbs, because I knew they’d be filled with hurt. He fucking brought this on himself. If he wouldn’t have kissed Megan none of this would have ever happened.

“I’m so sorry Ashely. For everything. For kissing Megan, for being weak, for punching Chase, for everything. I’m so very sorry…” He started slowly.

“Jared…stop…” I said as tears were beginning to form.

“No Ashely, let me finish.” He said bringing my eyes to meet his. “I’m so sorry. I know I shouldn’t have done what I did. I know that you may never forgive me ever again, but I’m not going to know that if I don’t give you time and space to think this over. That’s what you need. Time and space to clear your head and think this over. I’ll give that to you. I won’t bother you anymore after today. I won’t start anything. I won’t punch Chase in the face. I’ll stay away. Just remember what we’ve been through Ashely. Remember all the good times that we shared. Remember everything good that has happen in the year that we’ve been dating. A whole year Ash. Remember how much I love you and how much you love me. Remember that I’m never ever going to stop loving you. We both know the great saying ‘if you love someone, let them go. If they come back they’re yours, if they don’t they never were.’ So today I’m letting you go. I’m just hoping some day, you’ll come back to me Ash. We’re meant to be. I know that and deep down inside you know that too. I’m just giving you some time to realize it.” He said as tears rolled down both of our faces. Even though he was crying too, he lifted his thumb and gently wiped away a few of my tears. “I love you so much Ashley. Remember that.” He added, his thumb still resting on my cheek.

“Thank you Jared.” I said smiling before leaning up and kissing his cheek. “Thank you for letting me go.” I added holding his face in my hands and looking into his eyes.

“You’re welcome, my love.” He whispered gently before I turned around and walked out the door. A person came up next to me.

“Hey! Are you ok?” Em asked worried.

“Truthfully Em, I’ve never been better.” I responded with a knowing smile creeping on my face.

“Am I still giving you a ride home?” She asked cheerfully.

“No.” I responded slowly as I looked at something behind her. “I think he will.” I said staring at him intently. Em spun around and discovered what I was talking about.

“Ok Hun. Have fun.” She said smirking before walking off to her car. I walked towards Chase before breaking out into a full run and jumping on him. My legs wrapped around his waist as my arms hugged his neck. I pulled back so I could look at him.
