"This is bullshit!" I yelled as I yanked my knife out of the biters skull.
They said Atlanta was safe, that we would be sheltered from the virus, that we wouldn't have to worry about the monsters anymore.
They lied.
Atlanta was anything but what they informed us. Shaking my head, I took in my surroundings and came to the conclusion that Atlanta had been overrun long ago.
Debris littered the once clean streets of this buzzing city. Walkers roamed back and fourth along West Avenue. Blood and dirt were caked onto the sides of buildings as if it was a normalcy.
The only plus side of following the media's word, is having shelter for the night.
As I stalked through allies and crouched behind building corners, I peeled my eyes for a suitable place to stay for the night.
CRACK
CRACKCRACKCRACK
"Hahahahahha, take that you filthy b*stards," came a raspy voice from above.
That voice, my god.
Shivers racked my frame as his hearty laugh rang out once again.
CRACK
CRACK
CRACKCRACK
Biters upon biters were migrating toward the sound of what seemed like a rifle blasting off?
I looked across the street above me, and found a very built man firing off his weapon like there was no tomorrow.
Nice Amy, crack that kind of joke in the middle of an apocalypse.
As if feeling my eyes on him, he gazed back at me from above. I gasped when I caught a glimpse of his eyes. His soft, blue eyes. They held me captive, I couldn't move. I followed his eyes down to his slightly crooked nose, then to his pink plush lips, practically begging to be kissed. His jaw though, his strong jawline. It was a jawline of a man. So smooth and pronounced. Practically angular!
He's an older man.
I can tell he's at least into his late thirties due to his slightly receding hairline. It's still a messily and light brown in color, making my hands itch to run through it.
This man captivated me, there was no doubt about it, he had my full attention.
"Hey girly!!" He shouted, then pointed to an ally where a latter was being lowered down. I sprinted across the street towards an ally. Luckily this went unnoticed by the biters around me.
I started to climb towards the top of the building.
It felt like forever until I reached the edge of the roof. A tanned arm reached out for me. I grasped it, and was startled at the strength they used to haul me over the top.
In short, I fell flat on my ass.
Slowly gathering myself, I looked up to see those same bright blue eyes.
"Hello," I whispered quietly.
"Well hello there darlin'," Blue eyes said.
A southern accent hmmmm.
"What's a lil girl like you doin' all on yur own out here?" he queried.
Little girl?? little girl! why that littl- Stop. Stay calm Amy, stay calm.
"I'll have you know I'm 23 thank you," I snuffed out.
His face brought on an astonished look. "You couldn't be a day over 16, pumpkin," he rasped out, still in shock.
"Well I'm not, would you like some I.d. officer?" I sneered.
He smirked, "Feisty, I like it."
I raised an both eyebrows. He must be quite the ladies man.
"I'm Amy, Amy Woods," I introduced myself.
That sexy smirk never strayed from his face. He raised his hand for me to shake, "I'm Merle sugar, Merle Dixon."
oh shit, did he say dixon?
