I sit on a white leather couch and Logan sat down across from me. "Okay now explain." I said. He nodded. "In 1453, humans found out about vampires. People knew about us before but no one really cared back then. This time when they found out, they cared. People decided to hunt us down. They wanted to kill us all. They came to the castle we were staying at. They had torches and pitchforks. The towns people busted down the door and they stormed in. We did our best to protect her, but we failed. One of the men stabbed her with a pitchfork. Her death had us lacking a ruler and with out a ruler we cannot exist. With the loss of her we all went into hiding and slept, until now." Logan said. I could see the pain in his eyes as he spoke of the event that has taken place all that time ago. I still didn't see what this all had to do with me. I shook my head. "What does this have to do with me?" I ask. "Can't you see? You are our new queen. You are the reason we are all awake." Logan said. I stood up and walked to the window. "So, I am supposed to rule all of the vampires? I can't do that. I have a hard enough time trying to control my own life." I said. Logan walked up to me. "You will be fine. You are a natural born leader. You will be a fantastic leader as soon as you get out of your own head and watch others around you. You might notice some new things." Logan said. I didn't say anything. I just stared out the window. I looked at the moon and the stars as the clouds slowly passed over them. "What was she like?" I asked Logan. He looked up at me with confusion. "Who?" he asked. "The last queen." I said. He shifted uncomfortably. "She was strong and brave. She was also very beautiful. She had long black hair, dark brown eyes, and fair skin." He said. I could see pain in his eyes. "You loved her didn't you?" I asked him. He slowly looked at me and nodded. "I did, very much. It killed me when she died. " I looked at him and I saw the pain in his eyes. I felt bad from him. I could never understand what it would be like to lose the one you love. I put my hand on his arm and said "I am sorry." He looked at me and shook his head. " There is nothing to be sorry about." He said. I could hear the pain in his voice as he spoke. "No, there is something to be sorry about. You loved her and then you lost her. That is something to be sorry for. I could never understand how that would feel, but I am sure that it would be the death of me. Well, if I was alive it would be." I said. He smiled a little, which made me feel better.
Logan started to walk away from the window, when he got to the door he turned and looked back at me. "You should get some rest." He says. I nod slowly. I yawn and start to realize how tired I really was. I walked up the grand stair case and head into my room. I turn on the TV. I snuggled into the nice warm fluffy bed. I fell asleep immediately.
I woke up in the middle of the night. My body was telling me I wanted something, so I got up and went down stairs. I walked into the kitchen to find the fridge. I open it and squint my eyes as the bright light from the fridge surrounded me. I cringed at the sight of all the blood that was in it. They had no food, only blood. I will not eat that not now, not ever.
