Its been a while since I've seen Rah lurking around here. My mother found out why I was sleeping on the spare couch for a few days now and threatened him. She took Angie to the OB and found out that Angie has been sexually active for a long time now. Approximately two years, they can tell because umm her inner area was Nevermind TMI. Shes on punishment until her kids had kids. As for my mom, she stopped drinking or thats what she told me at least. Sometimes her breath would smell like beer, vodka, anything she could get her hands on. School was same Ol. We were gonna have a Halloween party that me and Rah always went to together, things weren't going to be the same

"So that new mattress should feel like a cloud. I spent a lot on it " my mom said fixing the table for dinner.

My feet were killing me and my side.. I felt like I've been walking all day. I sat at the table with my lazy ass.

"Rosalinda wouldn't you like to say Grace?

"When I was just about to get comfortable" I stood up but my feet wouldn't follow. I collapsed to the floor

"Honey are you okay my mom came rushing to my side.

" Yeah just got up too fast."

"Okay good be more careful next time stop being a baby" Angie said under her breath

Be more careful really? I could have hit my head and died

"I think ima got to bed early" I said getting up

Angie just sat there watching the whole thing eating.

I got to my room and plopped on my new mattress. My mom was right it was comfortable. I stared at the ceiling for a minute then remember where I snuck away too while Angie was at the doctor. One floor above, I've been having some.GIRL issues lately and wanted to know what was up. They ran a series or test.. I walked over to my school bag where I kept everything important to me paper wise so it wouldn't stand out and took out the beige envelope.

Closing the curtains and locking the window and door. I opened it

Dear, Ms.Rosalinda Ann --

You're healthy, all but two test came back verifying. Congratulations ROSALINDA, your Blood and Urine work came in positive to confirm you're pregnancy.As for another test shows ,you are 4 weeks along. For any questions and/ or concerns please contact your doctor

Atlanta Hospital

My heart dropped to my stomach literally. I can't, I can't be.. I looked down and felt my stomach then at the Promise ring on my finger Derek gave me before he left..We havent talk much since. I heard a lot of commotion downstairs but ignored it.. I was still processing this .Im going to be a mother. It wasnt long before I heard a loud knock at the door that made me jump. I scattered the papers hiding them and unlocked the door..

"Come in" I said looking like nothing happened

Angelo walked in the room.

ANGELO ! I was ecstatic to see him. He must have brought my car with him

He didn't looked to well. I ran and hugged him, but he pushed me off and sat me down.

"Not now Rose" he said

He looked like he'd been crying.

"Angelo what's wrong" I asked with a concerned face. He placed his hand on mines

" I've been driving for 6 hours to get here. It wasn't easy I had to tell you face to face.And take you back with me"

"But Angelo it takes 9 hours to get here from VA what happened. "

" Not when your doing 100 mph, I got about 2 tickets in every state."

"Why??? Angelo"

He took a deep breath

"Derek was out doing business with some boys out by Virginia beach late one night, when Banks pulled up and purposely crashed into them, then......shot Derek and two of his boys 4 times ( He started crying) They managed to get two out of the four out the last time I heard.. He's in critical condition . They dont know if he's going to make it"

Every word felt like glass going in and out of my skull. I collapsed to the floor and balled my eyes out in front of Angelo's feet . My world was falling around me..I ran . For the first time my father dying sank in. My mom and sister came rushing into the room, but I couldn't hear anything it was muted. I couldn't take it. I picked myself up and grabbed the biggest suitcase I could find.and started throwing everything in it.

"Ma im going to back to Virginia with Angelo " I said through every weep.

She didn't even try to argue with me, just stepped to the side.

I kissed them goodbye and texted Victoria the news of me going back to VA. Got in Angelo's car and pulled off.
