Jade uttered a groan, resting her head against my locker. "It did happen."

"Oh, really?" I lifted an eyebrow, hugging my books to my chest.

"Yeah, in my dream last night."

"So, enough of me and Joseph," she sighed, brushing her hair away from her face

"So, enough of me and Joseph," she sighed, brushing her hair away from her face. "How are things with you and Blaze?"

"Haven't seen him in a few days," I admitted, opening my locker and shoving my books inside. "I'm planning on inviting him over today."

With her eyebrows drawn together, she frowned. "And how are you planning on doing that?" she wondered.

A sly grin crept onto my face as I retrieved a tube of lipgloss from my locker. "My parents are going out today," I said while applying a coat of lipgloss.

"You sneaky bastard."

"I know," I grinned. "See you soon." Without further ado, I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked away, a feeling of euphoria washing over me.

I'm good.

Rolling my eyes, I hugged a pillow to my chest, frowning up at my parents. "I won't, I won't," I muttered, hoisting myself up and following them toward the front door.

"Do your homework," my mother admonished with narrowed eyes.

I plastered a sardonic grin onto my face. "Aye, aye, captain." With one final death glare, she trot outside with my father in tow, allowing me to sigh to myself. Finally. There's just something so relaxing about being home alone.
