HEART ATTACK – ONE DIRECTION.

"I LOVE COFFEE."

Kaedon arched a brow, biting down on his lower lip. Then, with an indifferent shake of the head, he took a sip of his coffee. "It's unhealthy, though," he pointed out, eyebrows raised in question.

I nodded my head in grim acknowledgement, a smile gracing my features. "I know," I mumbled, then pushed my cup away. "So, how's your new neighbourhood?"

"It sucks," he griped, pressing two fingers to his left temple and closing his eyes. "My neighbour hates life so much that she decides to take it out on other people. Old hag."

I breathed out a short laugh, shaking my head. "I miss you, you know," I muttered, pursing my lips together. "But I guess I'll you in university, right?"

Kaedon laughed. "True," he mused. "How's Jade doing, by the way?"

My shoulders rose. "Pining after guys. You know, the usual," I teased with a smile.

Kaedon quirked a brow, his hazel eyes wandering around my face. "Who's the guy now?"

"Winston," I answered nonchalantly, shrugging my shoulders once again.

"Oh?"

I arched a brow. "Didn't expect that, huh? Come on, mate. You should have at least seen this coming. It's Jade, after all. She can't fathom the idea of being alone."

"I know,"—he paused for an infinitesimal moment—"I just didn't expect her to develop feelings for Winston."

I sighed. "None of us did."

"How's Blaze?" Kaedon diverted the subject.

My eyes fluttered down to my cup of coffee. "He's fine, I guess. I'm going to see him today."

Kaedon rolled his eyes. "When don't you?"

I smiled, but said no more.

In all honesty, I felt rather uneasy. I had a feeling, call it a premonition, that something is about to go wrong.

Oh boy.

A LOUD KNOCK ON on the window yanked me out of my embarrassingly inappropriate dream.

I pushed a quick hand through my brown hair, eyes flitting around the room. Jesus, the sun was barely up. Throwing the covers off me, I stumbled my way toward the window and quietly slid it open, eyes scanning the area.

Nothing.

The moon above barely offered enough light that rendered it easy for me to make out whoever knocked on the window. With a quick sigh, I went to close the window but was stopped short as the sound of somebody hissing my name rang through my ears.
