The second Katherine shut the door behind her and walked into her chambers she knew something was wrong. Jack sat at the desk in the corner with his head down scribbling rapidly on a piece of paper, his jaw was set and she could see the veins in his neck more than normal. Katherine could feel the air around her shimmer with anger and annoyance that seemed to radiate off her husband.

"Jack?" Katherine asked tentatively.

Jack looked up from his scribbling his blue eyes piercing into hers.

"I'm glad to see you." He said and for a brief second his features softened. Katherine smiled back and was about to open her mouth to speak when he suddenly cut her off.

"Get on the bed." He said his expression going hard again.

Katherine blinked surprised by this demand. He was obviously upset about something, Katherine could tell that by the way he was breathing hard. The pencil in his hand shook slightly as she gripped it against the page, and the collar around his neck seemed to of been pulled farther away than usual.

"What?" Katherine asked her heart leaping into her throat.

"You heard me. Get on the bed, and open your legs."

"But I-" she started.

"Now." He said his blue eyes full of fire and something else, something almost like... hurt.

Katherine swallowed hard and looked down at herself, she wasn't allowed to refuse him but did they still have to do this when she was pregnant already? Of course Jack didn't know that yet, but would now be a good time to tell him?

No. No it wasn't.

Besides, Katherine was beginning to think he liked pushing her to a bed, any gratification he gave her from here on out would be from him. And not the king trying to get an heir.

She didn't say anything else as she walked over to the bed, she sat down and scooted back a bit until she could lay down and pull her legs up. Her pink dress was flowy and easy to maneuver as she pulled her skirts up to her stomach and set her legs apart. She didn't really want to do this right now, but then again when had she ever wanted to? Sure... it had its moments, Jack could make her scream -and had done it many times before - still, she wasn't sure she would call enjoying it the right word.

Katherine turned her head away from the noise of his chair scrapping against the ground as he stood up, she listened intently as her heart beat pounded in her ears. He walked over to the trash can and shredded apart the piece of paper he'd been scribbling on. Had he been drawing another picture?

Katherine could hear his breathing hitch as he caught sight of her, his hands were soft and needy against her as he moved more fabric away from her. Jack stepped up between her legs and slid his hands up her his breathing labored again, but this time Katherine was sure it was only because of her. And not what had happened earlier to make him so upset.

"Gosh... your so beautiful." Jack muttered gripping the back of her knees and taking her in fully.

Katherine opened her eyes briefly and turned her head to look at him. His blue eyes were full of sadness and his anger had been replaced with want and need, he made the air feel cold around her and made her blood bubble like champagne.

"Jack..." Katherine said breathlessly as she heard his belt scraped against the fabric of his trousers.

Katherine closed her eyes again as she felt his weight settle once again on top of her, it often marveled her how good he could make her feel but as soon as she though about all the times she'd enjoyed this... she was instantly remind about all the times she had not.
