A/N: Hey!

Finally back!!

It's my cousin's birthday week so, Happy Birthday, Shan!

(Yeah, her name is Shantyl...) XD XD XD

Chapter 9:

"No, Shans!!"

The thunder wave Voltorb released threw Mudkip back.

Shan caught her Pokemon, receiving a shock that left her brain scrambled and hair on end.

Niki stepped in with her Treecko, "Quick Attack."

Shan shivered a little before glancing back at her Mudkip's injured condition.

The Pokemon only whimpered before burying it's head deep into her shirt.

Shan patted her Mudkip, worried, as she glanced back at the fight Niki had stepped into.

Electric types had an advantage on Water Types... Why had she not remembered that?

Niki and her had bought about ten Pokeballs and that had gotten the younger sister excited.

Walking into Viridian Forest, it hadn't taken long to spot the different creatures but they'd either looked too scary or had been too fast for Shantyl and Mudkip to engage them in battle.

Voltorb had been perfect except for that tiny detail of being an electric type...

"Pokeball!!" Niki threw a Pokeball at the weakened Voltorb.

Shan straightened, still holding her Mudkip close, as the two watched the orb roll around, the Voltorb struggling inside.

A few seconds passed but the Pokeball would not stop moving.

"I don't-"

Niki's comment was cut off by the Pokeball exploding, a very angry Voltorb rolling out, sparks of electricity crackling around its body.

Shan caught Treecko give her a shocked expression as though asking her what to do.

Shan gave him a horrified shrug.

How was she was supposed to know what to do.

"Niki!!"

Niki stared at the angry electric type that was starting to charge up a huge beam.

"L-," Niki called out an order her friends readily accepted, "Let's run!!"

Shantyl scrambled to her feet, Mudkip still in her arms before speeding off with Niki and Treecko.

Treecko shot her a look that confirmed her doubts.

The grass type her sister owned thought Shantyl was utterly hopeless. Shan bit her lip to keep from panting as she ran for her life, the sounds of crackling thunder still sounding right behind them.

This training thing was a pain!

"Right."

Tina glanced down at the Voltorb that sent the two trainers running.

"It's definitely..." She paused and frowned as she watched the girls carefully.
