A/N: It's been a while!
I'm sorry, I'm sorry!!
Chapter 3:
Shantyl went on and on about the cute way Mudkip sniffed with her nose.
The pokemon spoken about only straightened slightly as it walked with her, keeping it head and tail up.
Nikila glanced at her talking sister once before looking back into her map.
They were on a path called Route 1 .
Only a little way left before they made it to Viridian town.
The sister folded the map up and pushed it into the bag that hung at the side of her bike.
The girls had taken to slowly wheeling their bikes across the path.
Meadows of green grass spread around them on either sides.
Treecko walked beside Nikila, calmly taking in his surroundings.
The master of the grass type pokemon couldn't help but wonder what was going through the creature's mind.
She wheeled her bike on, trying to think up scenarios of what their travel would be like once they entered the Pokemon League.
Battling gym leaders, training their Pokemon, catching new ones and enhancing the data record on their Pokedexs...
Things were going to be difficult to get done but that only made Nikila smile.
With perfect planning and the experience they'd get by the time they got used to being outside their hometown, things would start falling into place, the way the sisters wanted them to.
Nikila looked over at her younger sister once more.
Shantyl's pace was a little faster than her own and a lot more on the excited side as she kept talking to the pokemon by her side.
If things kept going the way they did, except for the hustle that came with gym battles, the sisters would have no trouble or fear of anything other than what normal trainers went through.
As Nikila turned back to face the road in front of her, she wondered why an uncomfortable feeling had set into her stomach.
It was a fear.
Almost an expectation.
Maybe a forewarning.
Kevin rested his back against a tree, watching with one eye open as his poochyena lapped up the water in the small pond.
The forest was a peaceful setting with almost no disturbances from the quiet pokemon making their homes in the thick bushes.
The boy reached over and plucked a berry.
Squishing it, he watched the red liquid slide down his finger.
Poison.
The kind of fruit people would pop into their mouths the moment they saw it and never realize that the entire bush had never touched by the pokemon that actually lived there.
Kevin swatted the juice and the berry out of his hand when the device in his pocket vibrated.
He pulled it out and glanced at the screen.
Sliding through the screen, the brown haired boy waited for his friend's voice to finally clear into proper words.
"Kevin? Yo... Kevy?"
"I'm here," Kevin let his poochyena rest its head on his knee.
"Yeah! Can you hear me?" The boy at the other end began to yell, "CAN YA HEAR ME?!"
"Clear and extremely loud," Kevin replied, letting his irritation.
There was a chuckle from the other line, "Good. So, listen."
Kevin waited.
His friend loved irritating him.
It was almost an obsession.
"The third piece, wanna guess what happened to it?"
Kevin straightened and Poochyena looked up, "What?"
"You gotta guess!"
"Nicanor..." Kevin sighed, "Just tell me."
"No!" Another female voice laughed from the other end, "Come on, guess..."
"Both together again?" Kevin asked almost shuddering.
His best friend and his sister...
The world never stood a chance against them...
They're only objective in life seemed to be taking people down and proving the impossible possible.
"Alright, did the piece disappear?" Kevin guessed moving his hand to stroke the fur of his beloved pokemon.
"Nope." The siblings on the other end said together.
"It's in the hands of the Knights?"
"No!!" Nicanor's laugh sounded over the device, "These guys beat them to it!"
Kevin couldn't help the smile that slipped onto his face,"The police then?"
"No!" His friend's sister could be heard shaking her head, "Guess again."
Kevin slowly stood from where he sat, dusting himself off, "Why don't you just tell me, Kezia?"
"Well," Kezia began, probably glancing over at her brother.
Kevin waited for the dark haired siblings to speak.
"The piece is very easy to take now!!" Nicanor said before going into detail about the object the trio had been hunting for months.
Kevin listened quietly as he made his way out of the forest.
"How interesting."
