Chapter time.

Chapter 8:

"So, what's the plan?"

Niki sighed.

This was about the third time she was being asked a question she'd already answered.

"Training," Treecko climbed over Niki's shoulder, "for a day at Viridian forest. Tomorrow, we'll be setting out to Pewter."

"Oh okay." Shan nodded, going back to playing with Mudkip.

Niki looked back into her map.

A right turn here. Past the Bakery. Down the street and left at the-

"Where are we going again?"

Niki sighed, "Viri-"

"Oh yeah, yeah." Shantyl nodded again, going back to tickling her Mudkip.

Niki went back to her map, trying to find the location she'd pinned in.

Walking forward, she rammed straight into someone before stumbling back.

"Careful..." Shan warned.

Looking up, Niki blinked at the vigourous strumming of a ukulele.

A girl about her height grinned at her, a cute Pichu by her side, "Hey. Sorry about that."

Niki took a moment to respond, "Oh no, it wasn't your fault!"

The girl only smiled before extending a hand, "The name's Skelsee."

Niki raised an eyebrow before taking it, "Really?"

Skelsee giggled, "Not really. But it's a good way to stay incognito."

A ghostly tune was strummed out by the Ukulele playing Pichu.

Niki couldn't help but laugh, "Well, that's cool. And who's this?"

The girl beside Skelsee smiled, "Call me Panda."

Niki smiled a tight smile as Shan proceeded to pull Pichu's chubby cheeks, "Nice to meet you, Panda... I'm Niki. My mature, overly well-behaved sister would be Shantyl."

Shan looked up briefly to smile before returning to patting the Pichu that was in the middle of a violent Ukulele solo.

"Uh, what're you guys here for?" Niki asked, "Challenging the new gym leader?"

"Oh, please," Skelsee waved Niki's guess away, "We're here for shopping! Our other companion is inside the Bakery getting us something to eat."

Niki nodded, "Oh okay."

"She's taking forever," Panda sighed making Niki smile.

"Shan and I are on our way to Viridian forest."

"Yeah?" Skelsee nodded, "Why?"

"We want to train," Niki said, "It's only been a few days since we got our first Pokemon... We've not had a single battle yet!"
