CHAPTER SIXTEEN
Regina
"Regina, have you seen my black bathing suit?! I just had it!" Iva called from the room. I just rolled my eyes. You know the type that always seem to lose everything five seconds before it was time to go somewhere? Well, that was Iva.
"Yes, Iva! You left it in here!" I called, from my room. She had left it when we were talking about Robert in my room. I'd told her everything. Just switched it up saying that the doc was actually the plumber. She was surprised, and proud of me for leaving him.
Yeah, it was going to suck without Robert, but we just had to stop things. He'd be happy about it eventually. I just know it.
"Regina, hurry! We gotta go!" She yelled, getting her bathing suit from my bed.
"ME hurry?! Iva, I am done! You're the one taking forever!" I told her, grabbing my bag, and taking it into the living room.
"Fine. Well, could you take my stuff to the car? I'll meet you down there in less than three."
"Sure. But hurry!" I told her, grabbing my bags, and heading out. "And don't forget to lock the door!"
"Okay!" She yelled back. I just smiled, and began walking. I accidentally bumped into someone, and dropped the bags.
"Excuse me. Sorry." I apologized, picking up the bags.
"It's okay." A familiar voice said. I looked up, surprised at seeing the Doc.
"Doc, what are you-"
"I'm here to make sure you don't strain yourself, and check up on you." He said, eyeing me up and down. "You don't look as if you're about to go rest. Very nice. I must add."
"Yeah, well, I am going to a pool party. My best friend and I." I told him, and started walking to Iva's car. She had a black mustang. It was a beauty.
"Cool." He said, walking beside me. He grabbed the bags as I opened the door.
"Thank you." I said, placing the bags in the car.
"No problem." He said. I turned, and looked at him. He was smiling.
"So what did you come here for?" I asked.
"Just to check up on you, like I said." He replied. "I went to Robert's, but he didn't answer."
"Uh, yeah. I left earlier." I replied. "Well, I am all good doctor. In perfect health as you can see. No attacks. I'm all good. You can go now."
"Well, you're not, Regina. That's why I'm here in the first place." He replied.
"I'm sorry doc. You're cool and everything, but I'd appreciate it if you just stopped coming by, and let me be."
"Is there something wrong?" He asked, confused.
"Nothing wrong. Just, I won't be at Robert's anymore, and you're his doctor. I have my own. I'll see them if anything is wrong. I do thank you for everything. It means a lot."
"Ha. It feels like you're giving me the break up speech, but we aren't together." He said, laughing.
"Great then. Enjoy your life. Good-bye!" I said, climbing into the passenger's seat. Iva would be here soon, and I'd appreciate if he wasn't here when she showed up.
"Well, okay then." He replied. "Just take care of yourself, will you?"
"Of course. Thank you doc." I said.
"Bye." He said, and walked away. Too bad. He could have possibly been a great friend.
"So. What are you going to do about Travis?" She asked as soon as we hit the road. Thankfully, she had came out a couple of seconds after the doc had left. Thank gosh.
