Chapter Twenty-Three
Regina
One month later...
"Hurry, Iva! We're going to be late!" I called from the car. We were headed to the airport, and only had about an hour before lift off.
"I'm coming!" She yelled back from the house. I sat back in the limo, and awaited her to bless me with her presence. A limo you ask? Yes. The boys decided to surprise us with it, and used it as sort of a;make up gift. They wouldn't be able to board with us. They had to leave a week after graduation to get everything ready in California. Yes, Travis was coming also. I guess he couldn't live without his brother. Especially so far away.
About the whole Erika, and Robert's infidelities thing... I decided to have a lunch with Erika, and I told her everything. When I say everything, I mean everything. She was ready to fight in the beginning, but I got her to listen and to understand. I explained to her that I had wanted nothing to do with Robert, and whatever she chose to do would be her choice, of course. She agreed, and told me that she'd wasted enough time on that man. Robert had tried to call me, but I disconnected my phone after I recieved the first call. I was done with him. There was no reason for me to keep it on.
The bakery, of course, was upset with our departure. They did understand though. With the new business, I was sure they'd come out great. I wasn't worried. Now, the last thing to tie us to this lovely place in Florida, was our house that we'd lived in for the past couple of years. We'd boxed up everything, and only left the furniture. We were definitely keeping the house. There were just too many memories to let it go. I did enjoy these last couple of years, but now it was time to move on.
"Finally! I'm done!" Iva exclaimed, jumping into the car.
"Took you long enough."
"Hey!" She exclaimed.
"I'm kidding. Kidding." I replied.
"Mhm.
"Oh. Did you call Cloud?" I asked.
"Yes. He said he couldn't wait to meet us in the great state of California." She replied, smiling. "I honestly cannot wait, Regina. We're going home!"
"I know! I can't believe it either." I agreed. "I am seriously going to miss this place."
"Well, it's a good thing we bought it. We can vacation here every now and then." She pointed out.
"Yes. Yes we could. But this was our home." I emphasized.
"Our very first home."
"Well, we are on to bigger and better things now!"
"Yes. Yes we are." She replied, sitting back in her seat, and glancing out the window. I did the same. I was most definitely going to miss the great Florida. I was going to miss it a lot.

"Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?" I heard a stranger say, as they covered my eyes with their callused hands. Though, they weren't really a stranger.
"Spongebob Squarepants!!" I yelled back, smiling. We both just laughed. I pulled his hands off, and turned around to see my awesome new friend. "Jacque, what are you doing here?!"
"Well, this is an airport, Regina." He replied, sarcastically. I started walking towards the loading zone, with him in tow. "Judging by my suitcases, I'm either working, or flying."
"Har har har!!" I said, rolling my eyes. "No, but seriously."
"Seriously. I'm boarding the plane." He replied.
"I had no idea that you were flying today! We could have came together!" I yelled at him.
"Well, we're together now. What's your seat number?"
"Row A440. What's yourse?"
"Row A441." He replied, smiling. "I guess it's meant to be."
"Hecks yeah! Let's go!" I yelled, grabbing his hand.
"Ahem?!" We both turned to see an exasperated Iva. I can't believe I forgot about her. "So, is he replacing my spot as your best friend?"
"Oh, puh-lease! You know you and Cloud have those slots filled already!" I said, wrapping my arm around her.
"Excuse me?" Jacque said, acting slightly offended.
"How about this. Why don't we all just gather on the plane, and whoever comes up with the best reason I am so awesome, wins!"
"Oh brother." They both said in unison. Rolling their eyes, and walking past me. I was quite offended, I tell you.
This was going to be a fantastic time for us. My two best friends, my guy friend, and a new best friend. All the while, living at home, and working on a new bakery. Relaxing in the sun, and having an awesome no-drama summer! I definitely could not wait. California, here we come!
