CHAPTER NINETEEN

Regina

"So, what was the deal that happened between you and Travis?" Iva asked, as soon as Cloud had left. I guess he wasn't spending the night tonight. We had a big day tomorrow anyways. We were sitting on the couch, just chatting. Neither one of us felt like sleeping. We were too hyped for tomorrow.

"Well, it's nothing big just..." I didn't really know what to say. We'd kissed, and it was the best, most amazing kiss that I have ever felt?? Doesn't really sound like a big deal.

"What, Regina?" She asked again.

"Well, we kissed and... it was actually good." I let out. Once I started, I couldn't stop. "I mean, it was better than the kiss at the park. Way more-"

"Butta my ass, and call me a biscuit!" Iva exclaimed. I just gave her a crazy look. "It was on a commercial. Don't look at me that way."

"What-?"

"Don't change the subject!" She exclaimed. "You didn't tell me that you kissed him at the park!"

"I guess it'd slipped my mind." I replied.

"Was it the first time at Richton, or the second time?"

"Well, we were about to the first time, but we went all the way the second."

"Oh my gosh." She said, giving me a dazed look. "I don't think I know who you are anymore."

"Oh come on, Iva! It was just a caught up moment. Nothing that I would ever do again."

"Well, Why not?" She asked.

"Are you serious? You just grilled me for not telling you, and NOW you are asking me why I won't do it again?!"

"No. I got mad because you hadn't told me. I'm totally fine with you doing it." She replied, cleaning out the fake dirt under her flawlessly clean nails.

"Oh gosh." I said, rolling my eyes. I honestly did not know what to say after that.

"Well, back to the story!" She exclaimed.

"Okay. We were on the floor kissing, and then when we were about to go further, that was when he said those three horrible words."

"What horrible words? "I want more"? No, Regina. Those are the words that you want to hear!" Iva exclaimed.

"NO! He said he loved me!" I told her.

"WHAT?!" She exclaimed. I just nodded my head. "Then what did you say?!"

"I told him that it wasn't true, and that he was just caught up in the moment, but I understood it, and that couldn't ever happen again."

"And then what happened?"

"Well, he told me that his feelings were true, and it slipped, but he meant it. He loved me." I told her.

"And then what did you say?" She asked, clutching at the pillow, fully intrigued.

"I told him that he didn't love me, and that it couldn't happen again, and then I walked out."

"Regina, how could you?!" She yelled, throwing a pillow at me. I caught it, and set it down.

"What did I do?!"

"How do you turn that poor boy down like that?! It's clear he loves you!"

"No. He loves the idea of us being together, but he does not love me." I replied. "Plus, I'm still not ready to date. I don't know how I feel, and I can't bring him into my bullshit when I'm messed up in the head. I cannot lead him on like that, Iva."

"Okay, okay. I definitely understand." She said, holding her hands up in defense. "Well, what are you going to do about him?"

"Why is it that I have to always do something? I don't want to do anything." I replied. "I just want to go to sleep. We have a big day tomorrow."

"I agree." She said, yawning.

"Can we sleep in here tonight? I don't want to sleep in the room by myself." I asked, using my puppy dog eyes, which got her laughing like it always did.

"S-sure!" She laughed. "I don't know why, but that face gets me all the time!"

"Har har har." I mocked, scooting down on the couch. "Thank you, Iva. For everything. You're the only one I could truly ever count on."

"Ditto." Was her reply, and the last thing I remember was darkness before falling into a fitful sleep.
