Chapter 5

I woke up and-OH WHO THE HELL ARE YOU? Oh, last night happened, I forgot. We didn't have sex or anything, I think... Anyways, I tried to sneak out of the bed without waking Jake, as I had to be at work by 9:00, and it was 7:30. I went to get dressed in the bathroom, and didn't turn the faucet all the way on, the noise of the water could wake him up. I ran out to brew some coffee for us, and I fed Felix. He sneezed, and I let out an "Awwww!" Oh no. I started to hear the bed sheets rustle, and I knew I woke him up.

"Damnit, I was hoping you wouldn't wake up!" I shouted to the room.

"Well good morning to you too!" He yelled back at me.

I could hear him get off of the bed, and slide out of the bedroom. I looked up and saw him, again, in his underwear.

"And so they return" I cackled.

"Oh, shhhhhh" He sneered back at me

"Sooooo....." I slurred

"So what?"

"What does *this* mean" I asked, moving my hand back and forth between us.

"Oh shit I haven't even thought about this, ummmmmmm...... Fuck this is complicated because I really don't know what you want."

"I mean I like you, I feel like I have some weird connection with you." I said, laughing at the end.

"You're starting to sound like a hippie!" He screeched and pretended to run away.

"All jokes aside, I really, REALLY like you too. But, I really don't think I am ready for another relationship just yet, we both are just coming out of breakups."

"I feel the same way too." I replied, lying. Damnit Jake, I really like you, don't pull this shit on me.

He suddenly fell to his knees laughing. "Who do you take me for? I'm ready to be in one, don't worry. I can tell you're lying when you said that. You started darting your eyes around all over the place. I took psychology as one of my classes. Try. Me."

I laughed. "Ok, so, are we... together now?" I asked, trying to hold in my laughter for sounding like an underpaid actor in a cheese disney movie.

"Well fuck, I guess we are!" He exclaimed. That isn't so Disney now.

"I have to get going to work, have fun here. Play with Felix if you want to, he's an attention whore at its finest." I laughed, gathering my things off of the coffee table.

"Ok, have fun at work, bye!" He said as I walked out. I unlocked my car door, threw the bag in the passengers seat, and drove off towards the sea of brick buildings and billboards. Once I got through all of the early morning work traffic, I ascended the parking garage, scavenging for a parking spot. I soon found one that was right next to a yellow pole.

"Do I even try it, I know i'm gonna hit it." I said out loud, driving about 1/2 mph. I turned to the right just a pinch, until I heard a thud. The car had hit the pole.

"Shit shit shit shit sHIT!" I shouted. I reversed the car, and got out to look at what I thought would be a huge scrape. Instead, there was nothing. Literally there wasn't any abrasion to the car. At all.

"Seriously." I muttered, and got back into my car. I drove up to the next floor where there was a plethora of parking spaces. I picked the one that was closest to the walkway and walked towards the offices through the maze of hallways. Trying to get through this place was a mess, the hallways were narrow and they went every direction imaginable.
