Chapter 2:

"Chapter 1: First Meeting You" I whispered to myself. I clicked on the next button to start reading it.

    Justin's POV:

I woke up bright and early, ready for a big day. I was applying for my first job as an editor for Teen. I brushed my teeth multiple times, checking to make sure they looked perfect. I combed my hair compulsively, making sure everything was neat and perfect. I wanted to make the best impression I could. I was soon on my way to the kitchen, looking like a team of stylists had prepared me for a Vanity Fair photoshoot. I brewed my favorite coffee, and had about 2 cups. I gulped it down without breathing, it was that good. I sat down on the chair in the little nook, and read a few articles in the daily newspaper. They just released the paper online, and it made it so much easier to read, with it being on a computer screen. Soon, it was almost time for the interview, so I packed up some paperwork and headed out the door to the interview. I got in my car and drove off to the heart of the city, where the offices were.

When I walked into the offices, it was like a whole new world. It looked so modern and chic, it was very intimidating coming from my humble personality.

"Hello Mr. Scott, please sit down in the front office and you will be called back for your interview, thank you!" A receptionist chirped out in the background. I sat down in one of the white leather chairs, and waited to be called. It was only 15 minutes after when I was called in, when someone walked into the room. "Hello Mr. Scott, please follow me to to Mr. Haight's office, and he will be with you momentarily." The receptionist walked me through the main office space, and it was spectacular. The urban design of the main floor captivated me, it was nothing like I had ever seen before.

I was soon seated in Mr. Haight's office, and I was starting to sweat. This is my last hope for a job, and I was very nervous on making the best impression I can. Suddenly, I was startled to hear the light voice of the infamous Mr. Haight.

"Hello, is this Mr. Scott I presume?" He had asked me.

"Hello sir, yes I am!" I replied, sounding anxious. I stood up to shake his hand, and then we sat down to start the interview.

"Well Mr. Scott, what brings you here to Teen?" He asks, seeming genuinely interested. "So far, he seems like a really nice person" I thought to myself.

"Well, I have majored in writing for 4 years at SFSU, and I have been a major follower of your website. I saw that you were interested in hiring a new writer, so I figured I would give this a try" I replied, hoping that was a good reply. Was it? What if it wasn't? I'm driving myself crazy. I just need to calm down, and stay as calm as I can. That is the only way I can get through this.

"4 years at SFSU? Impressive..." He states, which boots my confidence a little bit. "Maybe I might actually be able to get this job..." I think to myself.

"Do you have an exemplary piece that you would like to share with me?" He suddenly asks me. Luckily, I had spent the night preparing for this moment, and I brought a few of my pieces in. I hand him an article I did on the Twilight: New Moon movie that just came out, and another short story about a boy who grows up from being a poor ranchers son to a billionaire oil tycoon. Mr. Haight reads over my work I gave him, and after 15 minutes, he hands back both of my writings.
