Hi everyone! Here is chapter 8 of the story. It is going to get interesting soon, so I would definitely suggest you keep reading it. Have fun with this chapter! Also, I know that 99% of romance books on here have some sort of smut chapter or part in them, should I do one of those, or keep it to just PG-13? Leave a comment on this and tell me please. :-) Enjoy chapter 8.
-------
We pulled back onto the highway for another 4 hours. The drive was beautiful. Bright green trees lined the highway as we got closer to the lake. There were also pretty bunches of blue and lavender flowers that you would see along the windy road. There was also the occasional deer that would run along the car, but become skittish and run into the dense forest.
Once the GPS said turn left, we saw the sign. After 14 hours of driving, we had made it to Lake Crescent! The road to get to the lodge area was a windy, narrow, 2 lane road that made you feel as if you were going to drive into the foliage at any minute.
"I'm going to puke!" Jake said as we made a big turn that led into the lodge. He pulled the car into a parking spot and jumped out, sprinting to a trash can. I got out of the car and ran over to him with a bottle of water to give him after he just threw up his entire stomach into a pungent trash can.
After he was done, we walked towards the main office where we would check in. The entire place was surrounded by tall trees and every type of plant you could imagine. It looked like a scene straight out of The Jungle Book. Once we walked into the office, I was surprised. The inside of it looked quite elegant, with wallpaper and furniture that looked like it came right out of the queen's bedroom.
"Hello! Welcome to the Lake Crescent Lodge! I am Jamie, do you guys have a reservation?"
"Hi! Yes, it is under Justin!" I replied to the sweet, elderly lady.
"Alright, let me see here... Oh no!" She suddenly gasped.
"What's wrong?" I asked her.
"I am really sorry, but we accidentally booked your cabin out to someone else!"
How could that happen? Isn't that what computers and reservations are for? Maybe the computer had a glitch. Hopefully they have another cabin available because need a bed and I am not going back up that road.
"However, there is good news! We have a deluxe cabin left, and I am going to put you both in that free of charge!" She replied, probably hoping that would redeem our happiness.
"Really? That's great, thank you so much!" I said, delighted. Every other place I have gone to has put me in a worse room than what I paid for when something like this happens. She kept clicking on the keyboard until a piece of paper was printed out of the printer.
"Here you all are, your room keys are in this envelope. Enjoy your stay!"
"Thank you so much!" We both replied. We walked back to our car and drove to the new "Deluxe Cabin."
"I wonder how 'deluxe' this cabin really is." I told Jake.
"It probably has a grill or something, that's it."
Once we pulled up to the cabin, the grill was not the only thing added. This cabin was MASSIVE. And when I say massive, I mean this cabin was straight out of a magazine. There were huge windows in the front that went floor to ceiling. The entire front of the cabin had nicely tended to flowers that were color coated to make a heart, as well as a fancy front door.
"The question now is how many grills this cabin has. Wow." I stood in awe. This looks definitely nicer than anything I have ever stayed in. Once we pulled into the driveway of it, we got out and looked around us. This cabin was pretty isolated, and had the best view of them all. We were still surrounded by trees and plants, but we had a perfect view of the lake and the sunset.
