Dear Hide,
I just watched a mother be slaughtered in front of her daughter.
All I could do was stop her from having to watch that horrible sight.
I should have fought back.
But I didn't.
I'm not strong enough to protect everyone I want to.
I can't do this anymore.
Hide, what happens if I lose you?
I don't want to lose you.
Please promise me that I'm not going to lose you.
Promise me.
I need to know that you'll be safe and alive when I tell you these stories in person.
Or at least safe and alive when you read these.
I don't want to bury these with you.
Hide please don't make me go to your funeral.
Don't die before I do.
I don't want to lose my last family member.
You saved me.

With love,
Kaneki
