Stacey’s POV-

“Mom, why don’t you trust me!?” I shouted. She gave me a funny look. “Stacey, I do trust you. I just, I don’t want to leave you here alone. You know what happened last time you stayed home alone.” I knew exactly what she was talking about. My father’s death. How could she even use that against me. “Mom,” my voice cracked. “That was 10 years ago. I’m 17 now… I can take care of myself.”

My mom and I have been arguing about her leaving me home alone for a week so she can go to New York for a business trip. She’s scared something will happen and she won’t be able to get home in time. Like my father. “Plus, I have Niall and his Mom. If anything happens they’re 2 seconds away.” My mom and Niall’s mom have gotten close. They go out for coffee and stuff like that every once in a while, then there’s me and Niall. We’re close now. Practically best friends. We tell each other a lot and we have practically been inseparable lately. Which, I didn’t really mind, because the feeling of knowing you actually have someone there for you, is an amazing feeling like no other.

My mom sighed. “Fine, but you have to promise me something!” She exclaimed. I grinned happily. “Anything!” I smiled giddily. “No funny business while I’m gone. I’ve noticed you and Niall have gotten pretty close and I-” I cut her off before she could go any further. “WOAH , OK MOM. I PROMISE.” I said waving my hands in the air. She sighed in relief and I engulfed her in a hug. “Thank you thank thank you!” I said while running up the stairs towards my room. I dialed Niall’s number and walked over to my window and looked at his. He answered after the 3rd ring. “Window!” He opened his blinds and smiled. I hung up and gave him the thumbs up. He knew exactly what I was talking about. He jumped up and down and I laughed while closing my blinds.

Niall and I had this plan of throwing a party at my house Saturday because my mom and his mom would both be away. I was kind of scared because I felt, like a bad kid. But maybe change is what I need. I plopped on my bed and texted everyone in my contacts that party was at my house and all those other details. This was about to be crazy

***

“Bye mom!” I waved to her while she drove away to the airport. Me and Niall looked at each other and ran straight to my house. The party was in 4 hours so we had time. Niall’s mom had left this morning so everything is going as planned. I ran to my room and opened my closet to get the outfit I had picked out.

“Niall, I’ll meet you downstairs. I have to change.” He smiled sheepishly and exited the room. I slid my jeans and t-shirt off while sliding on my black dress. It wasn’t a black tight dress, it was tight around the chest area then flowed out around the waist and down. It went only down to mid-thigh which wasn’t to short or to long. I applied little eyeliner and kind of heavy mascara. When I perfected everything I ran downstairs and hid behind a wall before showing Niall.

“Are you ready to see the outfit I’ve been bragging about all week!” I giggled. Niall made a fake drum roll on the coffee table and I walked out slowly.

Niall’s POV -

She walked out slowly and when she finally stood in front of me, I was speechless. She was beautiful, she doesn’t know it but she is. Her hair fell perfectly into loose curls and her dress looked amazing on her.

“So? What do you think? Too much?” I nodded no quickly and she laughed. “I-it’s perfect.” I said breathlessly. She blushed and looked away. I jumped up from where I was sitting and looked at the time. “2 more hours!” I said excitedly. She was excited as well and I could tell she felt like a rebel for throwing this party. She skipped to her closet in the middle of the hallway and pulled out red flats which matched her lipstick, which was really hot. She slid them on and sat on the couch.

“So, the alcohol, where did you hide it?” She asked quietly. I laughed; I would never be able to hide alcohol around my mom. “My friend Harry is bringing it.” She nodded and turned the TV on and we just relaxed watching Friends until we heard the doorbell ring. We looked at each other and jumped up from our spots on her couch. She walked over to the door and opened it.

“Oi! Harry!” He stood at the door with Liam, Zayn and Louis. They were all holding kegs which made Stacey’s face light up. She wasn’t a big drinker at all, but she knew the more alcohol the crazier it’d be. She invited them all in and they sat them in the kitchen. Zayn walked over to Stacey and a little too close for her comfort. “So you must be the beautiful Stacey. Niall always talks about you.” She giggled and looked up at me. I Shyly smiled and walked away, I’ll have to get Zayn back for that one.
