My dearest friend gave me a prompt for Loki to run away from home and end up staying at Tony's place. I don't think she meant for me to take it this way. I also have a headcannon that Tony would call Loki "Lok" as a sort of nickname. So there's that. Enjoy.

Tony groaned aloud as he was woken by the sound of someone knocking at the front door. He looked at the clock nearest his bed, seeing that it was 2:34 AM, way too early to be dealing with whoever was disturbing his sleep. Nonetheless, he got up and went to answer the door. The sleepy-eyed teen was surprised to see a young god standing before him, holding a backpack and pillow under one arm. “Lok? What are you-“

“I need a place to stay for the night.” It was more of an order rather than a statement coming from Loki. Tony scowled.  “What’s the matter? You and daddy dear have another little fight?” Loki dropped his eyes, blinking hard to fight the tears that threatened to spill. “Never mind what has happened. Will you allow me to stay or not?” The god asked, glaring up at the young man before him. The brunette rolled his eyes, before turning around and waving the god inside.

“You can stay in my room, that way I don’t have to worry about anyone finding you.” Tony mumbled, wiping the sleep from his eyes. “But if you try to kill me I swear-“ “I won’t  bring any harm to you. I promise.” Loki said, meeting the brunette’s dark eyes. The other watched him carefully for a moment, before heading to his room. He pulled a bed out for the god, before jumping into his own. “Night Lok.” Tony muttered, turning his back to Loki and drifting off to sleep.

Loki stayed awake for a while, trying his hardest to sleep, but it never came. All he could think about were the words that his father had said to him, those cruel words that stung him worse than any poison. They kept repeating himself in his mind, no matter how hard he tried to block them out. He sat up, curling up and silently crying. He felt weak in that moment, and he finally thought his father was right. He wasn’t good enough, he was a weak little minded fool, and that’s all he’d ever be. A sob escaped him, causing the boy with who he shared a room with to jolt awake.

“Lok? You okay?” Tony yawned, turning over to see the god curled up and shaking slightly. “I’m fine Stark. Go back to sleep.” “No, you’re not.” The brunette crawled out of his bed, and joined Loki in his bed. “You’re crying.”

“And you’re a stubborn idiot. Go away.”

“Not until you tell me what’s wrong.”

“Why do you even care Stark? I thought you hated me?” Loki questioned, looking up at the boy. “Even if I do, I’m not completely heartless.” The boy shrugged. “And neither are you.” The god felt more tears fall, and he sobbed. Tony wasn’t sure of what to do, but just pulled the immortal into a hug, rubbing his back gently, and allowing the broken god to cry away his pain.

“Let it out Lok, just let it out.” The brunette whispered, and gently he began to hum a little tune his mother used to sing to him when he was upset. “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine. You make me happy, when skies are gray,” Loki cried harder, wrapping his arms around the boy and listening to the soothing sound of his voice.

“You never know dear, how much I love you. Please don’t take my sunshine away.” The god cried himself to sleep in Tony’s arms, only to wake up many more times in the night. And each time, the boy would soothe him back to sleep with the gentle song.
