Taylor and I board the school bus.
Me in my purple and black plaid shirt and a pair of blue jeans with a pair of white and gold sneakers.
Taylor in a pink flowery dress with white sandals. We sit in the middle chatting and it feels good not being in the back all alone.
We get off together chatting away about high school and becoming freshmen next year.
We go to chemistry and begin writing a note on oxygen and carbon dioxide in the human body.
We head to physical education and without Jessica and her possy school is actually quite peaceful.
After school we meet Joan in town to start buying decorations and food.
Of course Joan is able to whip out two, hundred dollar bills for the items.
When we get home Rob is there already and Taylor and I fake wrestle with.
Laughing he gets up to tend to his wife who is unpacking groceries in the kitchen.
After changing Taylor and I make a few rounds to friends and family inviting them to the baby shower. A few relatives invite us in for chocolate biscuits and we gladly eat them.
After we head to the skate park where boys are competing against each other.
One guy does a three-sixty degree turn before using the soup bowl as a ramp and doing a flip in mid air.
There's a round of applause as he lands on his skateboard and halts in front his team.
A girl with camouflage pants and a black tank top on goes next.
She flips off the edge into the soup bowl where she starts to do jumps, flips and 360° and 180° turns.
Taylor and I clap as the girl ends and everyone joins in applauding her performance.
We walk home together.
"Tay? What do you want the baby to be called?" I ask.
"Matt or Joshua for a boy and Sarah or Riley for a girl," Taylor says.
"You?"
I shrug not really knowing.
We finally get home and Joan and Rob are watching 'the world's biggest loser' while eating mac and cheese. Taylor and I get ours and join them.
"So I was thinking we could have the baby shower in the garden with pink lights since the baby is a girl. We could also have kebabs, barbequed wings, salad, rice, pasta. Those kinds of stuff," Joan says and we all simply nod in agreement.
"Well since a baby shower is a female party kind of thing I'll be hanging out with a few of my friends at the bar," Rob says putting up his feet.
Joan just nods and asks if he could leave when everyone has seen the baby's father.
Rob shrugs and puts his arm on his wife's shoulder.
After eight we start preparing for bed and by nine Taylor and I are ready and simply chatting away as usual.
When Joan says it's time for lights out we lay in the silence of the night occasionally whispering to each other or giggling.
Eventually I hear Taylor snoring and I soon follow after.
