The house is buzzing with too many people talking. You just got back from Shanghai and you want to just rest. A man knocks on your bedroom door telling Thorne is summoning you downstairs. With your aching, jet-lagged body you get up and drag your feet down the stairs of the villa to the foyer where almost everybody is gathered, including the 'evil man'.
"Kara, come here," Thorne waves his hand at you.
Thorne has changed your name to Kara Davis six months ago. It still sounds weird, but you still like it since it means you're not connected to his name anymore. Though, you still miss being called Elysa, it was great throwing away the Thorne from your name.
When Averin got you, his men were able to get you out of there alive. You wonder until now why Thorne is still interested in keeping you. He could've just ran with his money and left. But he didn't. He came for you. You could've died if it wasn't for him. You wished you just did, because being with him is even worse than dying.
He took you to Washington State, it's where he had your name and other info changed. You stayed there for a month then you all fly to Malaysia. You've been in this God-forsaken place for over four months now. Although you can't complain on how lavish your life is again, you still want out. This is not the life you want.
Before the incident, you planned on going on hiding from Thorne. You've already had everything ready for your escape a week after your graduation. But, because of Averin, you're stuck with him again.
Mark? You miss him. You want to call him and say you're ok. There is no possible way for you to know what's going on with him, since The Demon is always monitoring you 24/7. There are times you get connected to the internet, you check on his Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. But, he didn't update those anymore. You cry almost every time you get a chance.
What could he be doing now? Is he in New York? Could he still be playing basketball? Did he forget about you and moved on with his life? Your heart sinks at the thought. You touch the ring he gave hanging on the chain around your neck.
"What is it again?" You snarl at him. Every time he summons everybody there is a delivery to be made.
"Here," he hands you a bag and a piece of paper with an address written on it.
"Again? I just came from China. Can you just give me a break?" Seriously, this man is killing you.
"There's nobody else here to do it, is there?" He eyes you like it's the most natural thing to do. "You can take one of the guys if you want to."
"No. I'll go alone." You check the address on the paper before changing into a more inconspicuous outfit.
You get in one of the cars outside and throw the small bag on the passenger seat.
Honestly, there were times you wanted to run with the money you get from one of the deals. You know, go to a place where he can't ever find you. But, you're too scared. He might catch up on you before you can even get out of the country. Besides, your passports and IDs are hidden in his room.
The only times you're able to get out is when you go shopping for new clothes, or to the market to buy some food or other necessities. In those times, you're always escorted by two men. They don't walk beside you like other body guards do, but you know they're there.
You don't get to make friends. The only people in the house are Thorne and his men. Well, you get to have female companies at times when they let in some whores, but you wouldn't really like mingling with those bitches.
Even when he let you out on this deal alone, you know he still has eyes. You think maybe there's already one in the location.
You drive nonchalantly, enjoying the cool breeze in this warm weather. You had the hood of the car down and your shades on. You look like just one of the many tourists enjoying your car rental, checking out the city.
Mid-way to where you're gonna meet the client, you see a barricade ahead. You quickly hide the bag in one of the secret compartments in the car. You're already used to this, you know what you're doing. You smile as the man - you assume is an officer - lets you pull over to the side of the road.
"What's up officer?" You pull your shades up on your head and smile sweetly.
"We're just checking, ma'am. If you wouldn't mind getting out of the car. This is just protocol." He looks nervous, though. You wonder what they might be checking. Maybe there was a crime nearby.
"No problem," you open the door, slip out your leg - intentionally making your skirt go up a little to show more - and get out of the car. The man motions you to go to the other side where another officer is waiting.
The first man, after checking something inside the car, nods at the other behind you.
Before you know it, the second man has his hand over your mouth and pulling you towards a waiting car in front. You try to kick him but you miss. The bite you had on his hand makes him let go of you, but not for long. He grabs you with the other and pushes you in the car.
You scream as he tries to close the door, but with your leg sticking out, it won't close. "What the fuck." Another man beside you takes a hold of your waist and pulls you in, allowing the door to finally close. "Shit. Let go of me." You scream again.
The man in the front seat beside the driver looks through the rearview mirror. He looks familiar. "What? What are you doing to me?" You yell as you realize it's the PI from the US.
