You heard a sigh of defeat from your boyfriend next to you as you threw your controller in the air in victory.
"Yessssss! The fifth win!", you screeched, lying down on your bed. Your computer restarted, going back to the home page of the video game. You laughed as you turned your head to see Adrien staring at you.
"What?", you asked, getting comfortable on your bed. Adrien smiled at you, putting his controller to the side.
"You're just too good, m'lady", Adrien said softly, lying down next to you. You grabbed one of the many pillows on your bed and snuggled it into your stomach, giggling.
"I know. I am the greatest at video games", you boasted.
Adrien smirked, and brushed his hand behind your ear. "Y/n, you're simply too adorable", he whispered, turning to face you. He slid an arm behind your back, carefully dragging you closer to him. You smiled, and tossed your pillow behind you.
You placed your hand against his cheek, feeling the warmth radiating off of him.
"I'm the luckiest girl in the world, to have a famous model as a boyfriend", you said, slightly teasingly. Adrien chuckled.
"I'm the lucky one. I have a pro video gamer as a girlfriend", he retorted, running a hand through your hair. You sighed.
"But I'm not famous. It's not like everyone asks for my autograph every time I go out. You've always had girls flocking to you", you pointed out, cuddling into Adrien's chest. He rested his chin on top of your head.
"Yes but.... They don't mean anything to me. They're just fans. You're mine". You felt him kiss the top of your forehead, making you smile. He shifted away from you, making the bed creak. His bright green eyes sparkled against your e/c ones.
"You're beautiful. You're special. You're talented. And you're mine", Adrien said softly, stroking your cheek. You sighed again, running a hand through his blonde hair.
"Let's play another round. I don't feel so good", you said plainly, sitting up. Adrien's hand slid down to your waist, gripping you tightly.
"Y/n? Are you alright?", Adrien asked, leaning into you closer. You shrugged him away, grabbing your controller.
"Are you playing or not?", you asked. You weren't in the mood for any of this. You had other things on your mind.
Adrien sighed and grabbed his controller, and you began the game. As you played, you realized he wasn't paying attention. You paused the game violently.
"What are you doing", you said icily. You noticed Adrien staring at you.
"Y/n, you're not okay. What's the matter?", he pressed. He moved closer to you, trying to hold you. You moved backwards.
"I said I'm fine. If you're not going to play, I'll play by myself", you suggested coldly, shrugging Adrien away.
A/N: And men and women alike know that when a girl says she's fine it means she's not fine. (My awkward laughing in the distance).
Adrien bit his lip, staring at you for quite a while. Then, he grabbed his controller and stood up. "Alright then. I'll be going".
You looked up at him, and he gave you a look that read "now beg for me to stay", but you fell silent. Adrien sighed, running a hand through his hair.
You curled your knees up close to you on your bed, and turned to look out your window.
It's not fair. I'm useless to him. I'm nothing.
You heard footsteps leave your room, and your door close softly.
Laying down, you began to cry. He actually left. You had nothing left to do but wait for night to come.
Adrien's POV
I carefully walked down the stairs to leave silently, but to no avail. Y/n's parents stood near the door waiting for me.
"Did she tell you?", her mother asked excitedly. I blinked, confused.
"About what?", I asked. Y/n's father laughed.
"Her results from that big video game contest... The national one! She got 2nd place in the country! It's too bad... She really wanted to get to the worldwide competition..".
That was all I had to hear. I was sprinting back up the stairs to y/n's room before her parents could tell me more. Is that why she's so upset?! She got 2nd place IN A NATIONAL COMPETITION AND SHE'S DEPRESSED?!
I slammed open her door.
Your POV
Adrien stormed back into your room angrily. You sat up, drying your eyes quickly.
"A-Adrien?", you tried to say. He tackled you onto your bed, wrapping his arms tightly yet warmly around you.
"You got 2nd in a national video game competition and didn't tell me?", he whispered in you ear.
Shit. My parents told him.
"Y-yea...", you replied softly. He sat up, and grabbed your hands.
"Y/n.. That's amazing. Why would you be upset?", he said, pulling you up with him.
"I didn't want second. I wanted to win. For you, especially. If a gamer loses it's natural to be upset", you tried to explain.
Adrien laughed. "You won for me for sure. I don't care if you got second. You're #1 in my heart, and that's what matters to me. It should be to you, too", he said, kissing your forehead.
You giggled. "Well, gamers will be gamers, right?", you said teasingly.
Adrien smiled, and grabbed his controller.
"Alright, miss #1, think you can beat me this time?", Adrien laughed cockily. You grabbed your controller and started the game.
"Fight me."
