Adrien's POV
"Dude... I think she's here. Is that her?", Adrien's best friend, Nino, whispered to him from across the counter. He froze, and slowly turned around to the front door of the coffee shop while continuing to wash some equipment. His heart skipped a beat when his eyes landed on a girl around his age. She stepped into the shop, and sat down at a nearby table, pulling her laptop out from her bag.
"Yea.. That's her", Adrien whispered back, breathlessly. He felt himself smile as he continued to stare at this girl. She had been continuously coming into his coffee shop where he worked everyday, and sat at a specific table for an hour with her coffee, and then left.
"Dude... Just talk to her! Someone will eventually", Nino added, nudging his arm toward the other side of the room. Adrien turned to see a group of guys staring and whispering while looking at his girl.
"Nino... I can't.. There's no way a guy like me can just-", Adrien complained.
Nino punched his arm, causing him to drop his equipment. "Adrien! You're a model! What more can a girl ask for?!", Nino said loudly. Adrien sighed, picking up the broken equipment and setting it down on a nearby table. He began helping another waiter make the coffee that was beginning to get backed up on orders.
As he poured cup after cup of coffee, he stole glances at the girl. She wore adorable outfits, like always, and had her hair down; part of it was held back in a small clip. Her delicate fingers tapped away at her keyboard as a boy cut off Adrien's view. Shit. Someone's trying to talk to her. Adrien strained to hear their conversation, but after a couple seconds, the boy walked back to his table of friends, looking defeated.
The girl came back into the view, and looked the same as before. Her h/c hair shone from the early morning light in the window, and her glimmering e/c sparkled. Why? Who knew, but Adrien didn't care. She was perfect in his eyes; too perfect to even be approached.
"Hey, Adrien", his co-worker called from across the room. "Take this to table M-3", he said, handing Adrien a specialized coffee. Nino squealed from beside him, and winked at Adrien before sitting down at a bar stool to watch the action. Confused, Adrien moved from behind the counter toward table M-3. Halfway there, he stopped.
It's her table. The girl.
Adrien suddenly felt sweat drip off his back.
You can do this. Breathe. Don't screw up.
He approached her, and gently put her coffee on her table, next to her laptop.
"H-h-here...c-coffee", he tried with shaking hands. The girl halfway glanced up at him, and took the coffee, giving Adrien a small nod.
He whipped around, and walked back to Nino.
"What happened, man?!", Nino asked. Adrien shook his head.
"I... I don't know. I was at a loss for words.. Argh. She's not going to talk to me now."
Your POV
Oh my god that waiter was kinda cute, you thought to yourself, trying not to look at him from your computer. A lot of guys stare at you when you come into your favorite coffee shop, but when that waiter had come with your coffee.. You had felt your heart jump in your chest. The boy looked about your age, and had the most beautiful green eyes and shining, golden hair.
You sipped your coffee, trying to sneak looks at the boy. He was sitting with his friend, arguing over something.
Should... Should I talk to him? How can I get his attention?
You suddenly thought of an idea, but the worst part was that you were about to ruin a great outfit.
Adrien's POV
"Gahh!", a female voice screamed from across the shop. Adrien whipped around, and saw you with your coffee spilt over onto your pants and shirt, trying to clean it off.
He jumped over the counter to your rescue; thankfully the shop wasn't that crowded that morning.
"Are you alright, miss?", he asked, grabbing napkins and handing them to you. You took them carefully, and looked up at Adrien.
You nodded faintly, dabbing the coffee stained areas of her clothes.
"I-I'll get you another c-coffee", Adrien told you, turning around to signal a co-worker to make the your usual.
Adrien turned back to you to see that you had a spare sweatshirt in your bag which you had already put on to cover up the stain. You looked up at Adrien with your gorgeous e/c eyes.
"U-um...", Adrien tried, feeling his face heat up.
"Here's the coffee", the co-worker said, handing Adrien the new coffee.
Adrien handed it to the you, but his hand slipped and half of the new drink went splashing onto your sweatshirt.
"OH MY GOD", Adrien yelled, grabbing more napkins. "I am so so so so sorry oh my god, please forgive me", Adrien whimpered, flustered.
The you half-giggled. "It's alright. It's not the first time today I've gotten coffee on myself", you joked.
Adrien half-laughed. "Um.. D-do you mind if I sit here? My shift's over", Adrien asked carefully, gesturing to the empty chair across from her.
You nodded, and moved your computer aside to talk.
"Um.. W-what's your name?", Adrien asked, sitting down and facing you. You smiled, and he felt his heart skip a beat.
"It's y/n. And yours?"
"Oh.. I'm Adrien."
"...."
"Y/n is a beautiful name."
"Oh... Thank you."
"And... I'm sorry for spilling coffee on you. I have an extra sweatshirt if you'd like it."
"Oh! That... That would actually be really nice. Thank you."
Adrien shot up from his seat and ran into the "Employee Only" door to get his bag.
He came back out with a plain black sweatshirt, which he handed to you, and which you took from him and slipped it over your head, nestling into its warm fabric.
Oh god.. She looks adorable.
Adrien ran a hand through his hair.
"A-actually, I've been wanting to talk to you for a while now."
You looked up at him in surprise.
"Really?", you asked.
Adrien nodded.
"I... I haven't had the courage to, though. I mean.. You.. You're very beautiful."
You felt your face heat up, but it couldn't compare to Adrien's, who looked like someone had poured the hottest coffee in the world onto it.
"Oh.. Um, thank you", you said smiling at him.
You glanced at your phone and gasped silently.
"Oh no! I'm late for my classes. I'll.. See you around?", you said, packing up all of your things. "Oh! Your sweatshirt. Would-".
"Keep it. It looks better on you", Adrien responded, smiling.
You both stood up, and Adrien began clearing off your table and you left the coffee shop.
Adrien sighed, and cleared off the table of coffee cups. We barely got anywhere. All I did was say a couple things.. I even spilled coffee on her-
Adrien noticed peculiar writing on the side of your oldest coffee cup. He turned it over, and saw a number there, with a small heart at the end. He grinned, and pulled out his phone to put the number in.
For the rest of the day, Adrien couldn't stop smiling; or blushing, as a matter of fact.
Your POV
I hope he got my number, you thought to yourself, snuggling into the somewhat-large sweatshirt.
The Sun was almost noon-high, and you were late you your classes, but you didn't care.
I hope we become closer..
You laughed quietly outloud.
I'll tell him about my coffee one day. One day.. That time when I spilt coffee on myself to talk to a cute boy... Adrien.
