Chapter 13

*****Aiden's Pov ****The Night Before After Entering the Study

"In a way yes, but not the human race."

I notice her lovely face turn red and her green eyes darken. I see her intention before she moves.

I guess I have to prove it to her.

I use my speed and get to the door. When she turns around and spots me across the room I watch as her face pales "How did you move fast" she whispers with fear.

The predator in me comes out when I smell her fear so pungent in the air. I start making my way towards her and she continues to back away until I have her right where I want her against the wall.

I continue towards and press myself to her, placing my arms on the wall beside her head. Her body pressed to mine feels so erotic and right.

I discard that last thought and lower my head. She turns her head and bares her luscious neck to me.

I tilt my head, put my nose at her pulse and deeply inhale. I almost moan out loud at her scent. She smells like lavender and lilac. I feel my eyes change and lift my head from her throat so I don't tempt myself too much.

She turns her head back and I don't hide my eyes from her. I watch as her pupils widen and her breath catches.

"I'm A Vampire" I reply to her question.

I watch as her eyelids flutter closed and I catch her before she hits the ground

"Damnit". I hold her for a moment looking down at her beautiful face. She is so beautiful. I glide my index finger across her cheek lightly and feel a delicious tingly feeling that travels from my finger through my body. I shiver from the feeling.

I adjust her body in my arms to where I am holding her bridle style. Her body feels so light I barely have to make an effort. I pull her into my chest and savor the moment of her supple body pressed to me.

I take her to a guestroom across from mine and gently lay her down on the bed. I rise from her side, not liking the feeling of letting her go.

I shake my head at my thoughts. I cannot get attached to this girl.

I don't get attached to any woman! Period!

It was stupid of me to attack Mason. He's no threat compared to me but by preventing him from taking her I exposed my weakness to him. Nevermind the fact that I almost killed some older Human for grabbing her in my club.

"Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!" I berate myself. But I just couldn't hold myself back when I saw Mason about to kiss her.My nature took over and I couldn't stop my anger from getting the best of me. Same with the man in my club.

That has never happened with me before. I love control, I relish it. But around this girl my control just.......... evaporates.

I call for a maid through the mind link.

I hear the young vampire approaching, so I look down at her one more time and then exit the room as the maid appears.

"How can I be of service Sir?" The girl asks.

"There is a human in this room...." Before I finish my statement I notice the young vampires eyes change at the word human.

I quickly grab her by the throat and continue "I want you to go in, change her into something appropriate to sleep in and then leave." I reveal my own vampire eyes to her. I tighten the grip on her throat.

The girl is a vampire and can still breath, but she can also feel my strength and know I'm holding back.

I deepen my voice and let my authority leek through when I say "Do not dwell, simply do as I say. SHE IS NOT A SNACK!"
