2- First stop

"Maybe we should stop for gas", Speedy said, making me jump.

"Dude, don't scare me like that", I yawned and stretched on my seat.

"Sorry, Sidey, but really, it wouldn't be such a bad idea to stop. We could hang around too and explore, what do you think?", he said with a big smile.

"If it means exploring then I'm in!"

A few minutes later, Speedy pulled out in an old gas station's parking lot. It seemed deserted, like it was abandonned for years.

"Speedy, I don't think this is a good idea", I warned him, still looking out the window.

"We have no choice, Side. We won't make it to the next gas station", he arguyed as he parked the van beside a gas pump. I gulped as he got out.

"Let me come too!"

"I wasn't expecting you to stay in the van anyway, Side", he chuckled as he made his way toward the store.

"Be careful in there!", I yelled at him as he disappeared from my view.

It took quite a while for Speedy to come out. It has been more then ten minutes now. Maybe I should go check on him, see if he's alright.

As soon as I left the side of the Westfalia, Speedy came running and screaming from the store, a guy with a mask and a machete chasing behind him. I ran back to the van and hide inside the van. Then I heard laughter. I got out of the van and saw Speedy laughing along with the guy next to him, handing him a 20$. "What the fuck?"

"Did you get scared, Sidey?", Speedy laughed, soon followed by the other man.

"Yes, I was fucking scared! What the fuck, Speedy!"

"It was a joke, buddy. There's nothing harmful here", he resumed as he started filling the tank with gas. The guy next to him chuckled and turned around, walking back to the building. I glared at Speedy with hate. "I hate you."

"No you don't", he laughed. "Now come on, we gotta go. Do you want anything before we leave? Gummy bears?"

"Yes please!", I smiled. Even if I pretended, seconds ago, that I truely hated him, gummy bears would always make me feel better in my tummy.

When Speedy came back with two sacks of gummy bears, we headed back on the road to continue our journey with some old folk music from mama's cassettes.
