After filling the tank until the needle indicated 'full' on the van, we drove for another four hours. During these four hours, Side would constantly change the music that was playing on the radio, affirming that it was because 'he needed to find the perfect cassette'.
I sang along some of the songs while Side still wondered if the song were even real. This guy and the 80's didn't go too well together. "Everyone knows about the 80's, Side. It's the best decade of all times!"
"I thought it was the 90's."
"What? Why the 90's? No one gives a fuck about the 90's, Side", I laughed at his nonsense.
"Because I'm born in the 90's, dumbass!", he bursted out laughing. He popped a handfull of the gummy bears in his mouth.
"Careful there, you don't want to suffocate on these", I warned him as I momentarely removed my eyes from the dark road. It was almost 11 pm and I decided to pull over the side of the road where there was a bench and a trash can, facing a magnificent view of a lake.
"Bring water bottles and something to eat, I'll bring the chairs", I indicated Side as I made my way to the back of the Westfalia, searching for retractable chairs. We walked to the small opening and sat on the chairs.
"Aren't you cold?", Side asked me as he was clearly shaking in his thick hoodie.
I shook my head. "I'm fine, Sidey, thanks."
I popped open a water bottle a chugged half of its contain. "It's 11:11! Make a wish, Speedster!", Side exclamed excitedly.
I found the whole 11:11 thing childish, but I closed my eyes anyway, not wishing for anything special. I then opened my eyes and looked at Side, who still had his eyes tightly shut. He soon opened them and glanced at me, smiling.
"What'd you wish for, Sidey?", I asked him out of curiosity.
"I can't tell you! Otherwise, the wish won't work, and it would be too sad if it didn't", he giggled as he plopped some more of his gummy bears in his mouth.
"I shouldn't have bought you these", I pointed to the sack of gummies. "You'll get sick if you keep eating those at that speed."
He simply giggled as he ate some more of the treats. I shook my head and looked back at the lake in front of us.

"Maybe we should get going, Side. It's pretty late", I spoke as I got up from my chair, stretching my legs and arms. I glanced down at the boy who was fast asleep in the chair.
"Obviously", I whispered to myself.
"Side, wake up", I tried to wake him up by shaking his shoulders. Nothing. I sighed and bent down to pick up the smaller boy.
"Shit! You may be smaller than me, but goddamn you're heavy", I murmured to no one as I struggled to pick him up. When I finally had a good grip on Side, I brought him to the van and layed him down on one of the bed. I tucked him under the thin bed sheets and ran back outside to gather the chairs and food.
In the Westfalia, I chugged down a Red Bull before sitting back in front of the steering wheel. I'll find a spot to spend the night and we'll continue our journey when we'll be well rested.
And back on the road we were.
a. n.: I know it's not much, but how are you finding the story?
