"Oh my god! You actually went out with him? You're seriously lucky!" Melissa was squealing

"Melissa calm down! It wasn't like it was a real date anyway. We were just... Hanging out. As friends..." I paused for a minute, debating wether or not I should tell her about what I was really thinking yesterday.

"Are you kidding me? He totally likes you! You can't keep avoiding relationships for your whole life, you know."

"Yes I can. I have since-" since Garett... I looked down at my shoes. "Since Garett."

"Listen, you can't keep running away your whole life because of some jerk that broke your heart! You need to move on already!"

She was right it's been six years since Garett. I really did need to get on with my life, but I was too stubborn to admit it.

"Well maybe I will someday! Just... Just not today."

"You're so stubborn."
I laughed
"I know"  We both laughed.

We had always made up quickly, maybe that's why we were such good friends. It had always been a mystery to me, we were polar opposites. She was your typical girly girl. Always shopping, always cautious of how she looked, and she tried to date every guy she saw.

As for me, well I hated shopping, I usually just were the first t-shirt and jeans I saw, and obviously, I hated relationships

"I've got to get home. My mom wants me to stop and get groceries."

"Ok. Well I'm sleeping at your house tonight."

"Melissa you can't-"

"Nope. No buts. I'm coming over. Hope your mom made enough for three."

Without letting me argue, she stood up.

"Well, come on! We have groceries  to get!"
