Kayla should've been nervous. But somehow she stayed calm.
"So where is Cat's Kitchen anyway?"
"I don't know, you'll have to ask Siri."
He chuckled and Kayla rolled her eyes, but she couldn't help but to smile."Just, hurry up and start the car"
She was still trying to wipe the smile off of her face.It had been at least twenty minutes of silence since they got going, and it was starting to get awkward. Just when she was about to say something to break the silence, he said the one thing Kayla dreaded the most.
"you know Kayla, you really are beautiful."She could feel her face starting to feel hot, "Uh, Thanks... I guess."
But for some reason she wasn't angry. Normally comments like that made her mad, but this time it was the opposite. She fought back a smile.
"We're here." He was grinning like a little kid arriving at a toy store, "Cat's Kitchen."
"Wow, it's... Uh... Busy."
Kayla looked at the building. It was an average sized brick building with long windows all over it; the first floor was packed, large groups of people all squeezing to fit at a table, waiters and waitresses barely able to fit through the small spacers between tables. While the second floor was almost deserted compared to downstairs, and that's saying something since it would be considered busy in any other restaurant.Peter bumped her arm and pointed up to the roof, "we're on the balcony."
They made their way through the first floor toward the elevator, which was difficult considering that the elevator was in the very back of the room.
They squeezed their way passed huge groups of fat, laughing men, waiters trying to find their way through the maze of people, and crying toddlers. One of which kept trying to fling his food at everyone who passed.
Just as they though they made it passed the food-throwing nightmare, Peter turned and smile at Kayla, just as she turned her head a meatball the size of Alaska flew past her face and hit Peter right above the eye.
It fell to the floor and they kept moving and finally made it into the empty elevator."You know, when I heard that this place was a nice place to eat, I was not expecting that," she said, still panting. "The food better be really good or I'm gonna kill you."
He laughed. " Don't worry, that wasn't actually part of Cat's Kitchen. That's like a Ruby Tuesday's ripoff. Cat's Kitchen is the second floor and the roof."
The elevator stopped and the doors opened revealing a beautiful candlelit table set for two next to the railing for the balcony.
But that was nothing compared to the rest of the set up: the railing was lined with string lights and flowers, which just made the view of the city lights even more breathtaking.
"I wanted to make it special. After all, this our first date."
My face grew warm.
"You say that like this isn't a one time thing."
