Kyungsoo and Monica return to the house. Kyungsoo enters and his mom is waiting for them He nods his head at his mom, indicating to her that he has told Monica. Kyungsoo mom see that Monica is upset and she takes her and sits her down on the couch.
"Are you ok?" Kyungsoo mom ask Monica.
"I don't know. I don't know what to think anymore" she responds.
"I have something to show you", Kyungsoo mom tell her. She goes to a shelf and takes down a photo book. "Your mom was my best friend. I saved everything I could find on your mom. The impact she was making in our community, the kids and families she thought and also pictures of our times together." She handed the book to Monica. Monica opened the book and the first picture see saw was a picture of herself with her mom and dad. Kyungsoo mom went through every picture and every clipping, explaining and recalling every memory. At the end of it all, Monica is left with mixed emotions that she can't describe. She doesn't know whether or not to be upset with Kyungsoo for not telling her sooner or to be relieved that she now has some comfort about her past. She decides that she is grateful to know, that she is glad that she finally knows. But she can't shake the feeling of betrayal, betrayal of her grandmother for never telling her and for Kyungsoo for keeping it so long.
"I am going to give you and Kyungsoo some time alone" his mom say.
"Are you OK? Kyungsoo asks.
"I can't have this discussion here with you, at your parents house. It wouldn't be right. I just really need to go back to the hotel."
"OK, we can go. Let me tell my parents."
Monica and Kyungsoo are leaving when his mom stops Monica and tells her, "my son loves you, please remember that he did what he thought was best."
On the ride back to the hotel, Monica didn't say anything. She couldn't look at Kyungsoo and when he tried to touch her, she pulled away from him.
They arrive at the hotel and before they got out the car, Monica looked over at Kyungsoo and said, "I want to be alone tonight. I have a lot of things to think about. I understand that you did what you thought was best for me, but you still kept a very important part of my life from me and I'm not sure how I feel about that."
"I am sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt you. I understand that you need some time to yourself, but when you're ready, I would like to explain to you why I waited. Just say that you will call me when you are ready. It doesn't matter what time it is or what I'm doing, I will be here. Can you do that for me please?"
"OK, I will" she tells him and get out the car.
Monica goes to her room and Kyungsoo heads back to the dorm.
Monica looks over the photo book that Kyungsoo mom gave her, trying to remember anything about her time in Korea, with her family. She doesn't remember anything and in frustration, she throws the book against the wall. She starts to pace back and forth, trying to regain control of her roaming thoughts. She can find no comfort in the search. She didn't want to think about this or anything. She needed to be free. She needed to find release from her confusion.
She starts to think, what can I do to take my mind off this? Then it hits her, Se Hun, the back of his motorcycle. She remember the freedom, the danger, the excitement, and that her mind was focused on the thrill of it and nothing else. But she didn't know if she should call him. She started thinking about what it would mean for her and Kyungsoo, for her and Se Hun, but she didn't care. She was hurting to the very core of her being and she wanted the pain to stop, even if it was for a second and she didn't care about the consequences.
She picks up the phone and hopes Se Hun hasn't changed his number.
"Hello." Se Hun voice on the end of the phone.
