It was midnight on Tuesday, October twelfth, day one of being kidnapped.
Maggie was sitting on the bed, hands over her eyes. She was crying so much that she felt like throwing up her fear and wondering why she walked into this mess. Cold, tired and sad, Maggie lay on the bed and cried more and more while each minute passed by. She couldn't comprehend anything but fear and sadness lurking in her soul. Connor was nowhere to be found in the house, it seemed that he had gone out for a while.
Maggie looked around the basement as she was lying down; nothing was around but a table with four chairs, a lightbulb on the ceiling, a bed, a heater that wasn't on and another bed a few feet from her own. She yelled, "CONNOR I WANT TO GO HOME!"
No one heard her scream but her, she was stuck in the basement alone until Connor came back from wherever he'd gone.
Today no angel was watching her, it was the Devil, watching her miserable cries for help and sad attempts to get help. If the Devil was with her, He was laughing and happy to see her cry. The angel hung below watching sadly, unable to help, watching Maggie be sad and miserable, the angel cried along with her unable to send a message to God to help her.
Maggie lay in bed, waiting for Connor to return so she could ask him in a begging voice to let her go home and be happy with her family.
After what she guessed was about an hour or so, the front door closed and Connor came downstairs, greeted by a miserable teenage girl.
"Maggie, what's wrong? Why are you crying so much? Tell me, please," he said in a calming voice.
Maggie replied, "You won't let me go home, I'm cold and tired but I can't sleep because I'm so sad and cold."
"Oh, I'm sorry that I left you here in the cold, but I can't let you go home. One reason being you might tell your parents that I kidnapped you and they'll call the cops and have me arrested. Then I'll have no choice but to track you down and kill you, no matter how beautiful you are and how much you don't want to die," he said.
"What? B-but I-I don't want to die," she pleaded desperately.
Connor came on the bed and sat in front of her, watching her. "I'm not going to kill you unless you do something that will make me kill you. For now you're just going to be here with me, until I know what exactly what I want with you. I know one thing I want with you, I'm just not going to tell you yet, you'll figure it out soon enough, Maggie," he said.
Connor stroked her hair to soothe her to sleep, but it didn't do much for her. She lay facing the floor, letting her tears fall from her eyes, letting Connor do what he wants to her. Connor got off the bed and started up the basement stairs, but before he got to the doorway, Maggie yelled.
"Please don't go, don't leave me here alone!"
Connor said to her calmly, "I'll be right back, nothing is going to get you, I promise. You're safe here." Connor smiled at her to calm her down, which didn't help her at all.
Connor entered the kitchen and grabbed a syringe with a drug that would help Maggie sleep. He came back downstairs and had the syringe behind his back so she wouldn't think something was up.
"What are you going to do to me, Connor?" Maggie asked, a little scared of what he may have wanted.
Connor showed her the syringe and walked slowly to her.
She panicked, afraid it was some sort of lethal injection, "No please, don't do this, please! I don't want to-"
Connor cut into her sentence, "This won't kill you, I promise. This will only help you sleep; it's not going to hurt you. Just stay still and it'll be over and done with."
Maggie moved into the corner of the bed, shaking, deathly afraid of needles and Connor. Why hadn't she listened to that small voice?
He came close to her and said to her calmly, "Shh, relax. I'm not going to hurt you." He crawled over to the corner and took Maggie's arm gently, injecting her with the clear liquid.
"Why do I feel funny? What's wrong with my vision? It's getting blurry," Maggie slurred sleepily.
Connor said calmly, "Rest, my darling."
Maggie drifted to sleep and slept in Connor's arms.
