I decide to stay after and talk with my boring-yet-knowledgeable teacher. I text Zoey and Malachi just in case either don't get it.

I look forward when I feel the faint buzz in my pocket. I quickly check it to see none other than a response.
K. Call if you need us and don't stay too long. Stay safe. -Zo
I smile and turn off my phone as we talk about Irene.
Apparently, she was a healer and big role model to many but kept her personal stuff away from others.
She disappeared about a year ago, or at least that is what Mr. Luke says. Also in the courtyard is a statue of her. Everyone except me and a few others are either asleep or on their laptops playing games or listening to music. I keep listening to make sure it is probably my long lost mother.
I look at my desk to see a light blue post-it folded into a envelope. I open it.
Hey. Ik this is boring... But can I have ur # to add to the group chat? -Garroth
I look up at Garroth to see him staring at me. I grab my pencil and write it down and pass it back to him. He nods and unlocks his phone. A few seconds later, I feel yet another buzz.

I put in the right contacts and continue texting under the desk.
A- ty. I gtg; in class and staying after school.
L- Got in trouble the first day huh?

A- 1. How did you appear? 2. No, I need to talk to the teacher about something.

The bell rings and I am packed up.
"Hey if you need a ride later gimme a call or text." Garroth says. "I can use my brother's car."
"Thanks but I should be fine. If not I will. Bye!" I say waving at him.
"Bye Aph." He says walking out the door. I am left alone with Mr. Luke.
"Um, excuse me Mr.Luke?" I say. He looks up from his laptop. "I'm sorry but may we talk?"
"Umm, sure. What do you need to talk about exactly?" He says, raising an eyebrow.
"I-I- I think my mom is Lady Irene."
