"No, I don't think so..." Mr. Luke sounded hesitant.

"Well... My mother was a healer and lived in the Ru'an region where I just moved from (let's pretend they are two separate places). I didn't even know my father's name to be honest other than he left shortly after my brother was born. I remember he had tan skin like my own and brown hair but that's it. My mother was a replica of me. I also know she disappeared one day and never came back and I have a feeling she left to come here." I say in a whole breath, confident with my words.

"Well... What is her full name, hmm?" He asks me.

"Irene May Phoenix, more the reason I wanted to move here." I say.

"How do I know you aren't just like that Emmalyn kid who is a Irene fanatic?" He asks. I ponder on it for a moment and remember. My bracelet.

My mother gave me a bracelet when I was four. It's a simple silver chain with a ruby charm hanging off it. When I used to wear it, it would burn up when I was angry, jealous or feeling a hatred. It would burn me slightly and I remember my mother telling me "it will teach you to control you emotions and powers in the future". Once she left, I swore never to wear it but I keep it in my pocket for safe keeping if I ever need a slight reminder. I dangle it in front of his face as he examines it with wide eyes.

"T-T-H-HIS IS-" he stutters.

"Hm?" I question, tilting my head like a dog.

"Her relic." He whispers in amazement.

"Yup. She gave it to me when I was younger." I smile. I slowly pry it off of his fingers as I don't want him damaging it.

"Okay-okay. Please." He breaths to calm himself. "Since you seem to be feeling the truth, I as from the bottom of my heart for you to join the Irene club I host. It won't be starting for a while, given it is only the first day but please, consider it? Or make an appearance? For now, this will be between us. Don't tell anyone or the people from the school may turn against you." He says.

"Fine." I say after a moment of thinking about it. "I'll try to make it. Let me know the details once they are decided."

"Thank you, thank you. I promise it won't let you down. Now, keep this to yourself and I will be seeing you later Miss Aphmau." He nods as I walk out. I get another Uber and the driver is nice but quiet. I text my friends and once he gets to my house, I pay him and walk up the long driveway.

I knock on the door as it is immediately answered by Zoey.

"Hey Aphmau!" She smiles.

"Hey Zo!" I say walking in. Malachi is coloring, my guess is for homework, on the table and Levin must be upstairs.

"Hey Mal. Whatcha up to?" I ask him. He looks up from his page.

"Oh. Just simple homework. It's a simple mandala with with triangular formations. Cool I guess." He shrugs and continues. Man, he knows more than I do...

I walk up and set my backpack in the corner and peek into Malachi and Levin's room. To my surprise, Levin is knocked out on the bed. I grab a thin blanket and drape it over him. I do some homework just in time for dinner.

We sit around the table and start eating. Zoey made spinach and mushroom omelettes with milk, toast and bacon. We gobble it up, wash the dishes and change into pajamas.

I kiss Malachi and Levin goodnight as usual and decide to go to bed as well. I grab a little bowl of mint ice cream, eat it, brush my teeth and drift to sleep after this hectic and thrilling day.
