Chapter One

Saturday Afternoon

I was at the park with my parents and my little brother Leon. We was playing around laughing having a great time. After a long while we left to go home. We came inside the house.

Leon and i hung around while mom fixed dinner for us. An hour later we sat down as a family and ate. After that Leon and I got ready for bed, had took our baths.

I was laying up in my bed, when mom came in.

"Ready for bed, Koy?" Mom ask

"No." I answered she came and sat down next to me

"Why not?" Mom ask

"Not sleepy, and my ears hurts." I answered

Mom place her hand on both of my ears felt they were warm. She than felt my forehead.

"Getting another infection, I'll make a appointment..."

I cut her off "I'm not feeling that bad, mommy I don't need to go to the doctor."  Mom smirk as she stared at me.

She knows I don't like going to the doctors or hospitals. She gotten me to lay down as she cracked my window a bit so I won't get too hot while I'm sleeping.

She stared at me as she held up her hand I held up mine place it against hers we locked fingers.

"I love you, Koy." Mom smile

"I love you too mommy." I smiled

She kissed my forehead, I giggled softly as she Eskimo kiss me. Turned my light off and left on out the room. I fell on off to sleep.

Next Morning

I woke up, in so much pain and sweat. My ears were burning really bad.

"Mommy." I gasp as I couldn't hear what I said. Sounded so muffled.
I began to freak out, I got out of my bed walked out of my room

"Mommy....Daddy!"

Calling out for them, crying and yelling I can't hear anything. Walking all over the house trying to find my mom and dad. I began to get really scared I kept closing my eyes hoping I was dreaming.

"MOMMY...where are you mommy, daddy daddy!"

They rushed to me with scared looks on their face.

"What's wrong?" Dad ask

I stared at him, was trying figure out what he said, he said something again.
I began gasping a lot

"My ears....I can't hear anything I can't hear anything!" I cried

Their eyes widen as they gasps, dad placed his hands on my ears looked at mom

"They're burning, Sol we gotta get her to the hospital." He said

They had put their shoes on, dad carried me to the car as mom took Leon to our neighbor Ms.Helen.

They rushed me to the hospital. I was groaning and crying from the pain.

Moments later we made it to the hospital. They rushed me inside, dad yelling for help. The nurses came to me, dad laid me on a gurney.

"Noo, mommy mommy!" I cried out. I rubbed and tugged on my ears trying to hear.
I began getting too wild, the doctor came with a needle, he looked at mom and dad. They nod their heads dad grabbed and held me down. I was screaming crying than I began to calm down as the doctor gave me a shot.

My breathing began to slow down, I stared at mom. Tears coming down her face she was saying something. I clench my jaws as I continue to cry. My eye lids were getting very heavy.

The nurses began wheeling me away, dad rubbed my hair back as he said something. I wanted to yell but I couldn't my body was fighting against me. They followed me and stopped as I went through the doors saw dad hold mom in his arms as they cried. Next thing you know I was out for the count.
