Chapter Two

Five hours later

I woke up, blinked a few times til my vision got clear. I looked around saw I was in a room. I got a little overwhelmed I was hoping I had a bad dream. I looked to the side  saw mom and dad, saw they were arguing with each other.

I groan a bit I still couldn't hear anything, everything sounds so muffled. I just stared at them. Dad look and stopped talking as he saw I was awake. He said something as he pointed at me a bit. Mom turned her eyes widen as she saw me.

Dad came to me he sat down on the bed next to me. He smiled softly at me as he rub my hair. He saw that I'm scared. I looked at mom, I wanted her. She came to the bed, smiles at me softly. I sniff a bit, than the doctor came in.

He came to my side, smiled softly. He was holding a dry erase board and a marker. He wrote on it and showed it to me

"Hi, Kayla I'm Dr.Shannon"

I nod my head. He wrote on it and showed it to me

"How are you feeling?"

I made an angry look at him. He twisted his lips, as he saw how I was feeling. He wipe the board and wrote on it and showed it to me

"I'll just get to the point...I'm sorry to say you have lost your hearing."

He began writing telling me what happened, I was misdiagnosed by my other doctor, and the medicine she gave me only made it worst.

"You have to get fitted for some hearing aids"

I couldn't believe it, was breathing a little heavy. I looked at mom and dad saw the looks on their faces. I just drop my head as I began to cry.
Mom came and held me in her arms. I held onto her, than she let go of me I looked up saw her went after Dr.Shannon. my eyes widen as I opened my mouth a bit. I began breathing fast.
Then dad came and held me, rubbing my back, getting me to calm down. He had me look at him stared into my eyes. He pointed to his heart than he pointed to mine. He nod his head a bit. I nod back. He kissed my forehead and held me in his arms.

Next day

I was released from the hospital, came home. Leon ran to me he was really worried about me. I looked at him he stared and hugged me I hugged him.
Later at night I was in my room sitting on my bed. I had my head down, playing with my bracelet. Mom came in the room, I looked up saw her. I simply got under the covers I looked at her again.

She fix my blanket smiled a bit at me. She was finna reach to turn off my lamp when she saw me held up my hand. She stared at my hand, I saw how she reacted. She held it for a quick second and let go. Kissed my forehead and turned off my light. She walked on out of my room. I laid there with tears coming down my face. I rolled over and cried myself to sleep.

I was beginning to lose my best friend.
