The next 13 months flew by in a mess of dirty diapers, pull-ups, and a lot tripping. Lily was now wobbling around on unsteady legs, clutching to Daisy's shaggy fur to keep her balance and playing with everything she could get her hands on. Several times Steve and Bucky had walked into their bed room and found Lily playing with Steve's shield, and now that she was walking by herself Daisy hardly left her side. If Lily went outside, Daisy was right behind her, never more than ten feet away. Bucky and Steve had to get a double bed for Lily because she wanted Daisy sleeping with her, and the monstrous dog took up over half of the bed.

During the last few months, Steve and Bucky had noticed they were being followed almost constantly, they would see someone that looked almost identical to Rumlow, they just thought they had imagined it though. A building had collapsed on top of him, how could anyone survive that? But the sightings had started to worry them. And according to Emily, who had died over a year ago, he was Lily's father and he had left Emily a note on the door of her old apartment saying he was going to get his daughter back. What if he had managed to survive?

"Steve, I'm starting to worry about this guy. I feel like he's been following us. I want you to be more careful when you go out, especially if you're taking Lily with you. You remember the note he left Emily. He'd do anything to get her back, he'd probably try and raise her to be another Blackwidow like Natasha." Bucky sat down next to Steve on the love seat, having just put Lily down for her nap with Daisy the two men finally had a chance to talk.

"I am too, Bucky. I see this guy almost every time we go out and I swear, he looks just like Rumlow. The side of his face is nothing but scar tissue but it looks just like him. We have a vets appointment tomorrow morning and I'm worried we're going to run into him again." Steve shuffled closer to Bucky and laid against him. Bucky propped his head against Steve's and sighed.

"I'll go with you and Lily, I'm pretty good at hiding gun on various parts of my body." He repositioned himself and pulled Steve on top of him. "I love you, Steve, you know that right?"

"Of course I do Bucky."

"You know I'd do anything to protect you and Lily right?" Bucky tense and his arms tightened around Steve.

"Of course." Steve was getting worried, Bucky never talked this.

"If this turns out to be Rumlow, this time I'll make sure he's dead. I'll kill him myself." Bucky started shaking and his throat felt tight.

"Bucky, no. You've gotten so much better, doing something like that, it would ruin you." Steve looked up to Bucky, seeing his set jaw and hard eyes.

"If he tries to touch you or Lily I'll rip his head off." Bucky had tears in his eyes and the shaking was getting worse. Steve sat up and straddled Bucky's hips, pulling on his shoulders Steve got Bucky to sit up. He wrapped his arms around Bucky and ran a hand through his hair.

"You need to calm down, Bucky. You getting worked up like this is only going to make things worse. If he is still alive, it's going to be a while before he does something. Natasha didn't get recruited until she was five or six, Lily is only a year and a half. It's going to be a few years until he tries anything, if he tries anything. " Steve sat there with Bucky's arms wrapped so tight around his waist it was hard to get a good breath. He was still playing with Bucky's hair when he heard him try to say something. "I can't understand what you're saying Bucky."

"I'm terrified, Steve. More than I've ever been." Bucky had finally let the tears loose and he wouldn't look up at Steve.

"Bucky, look at me." Bucky just shook his head. "Bucky. Look at me."  He still refused to look at Steve. "Damn it, Bucky look at me." Steve was angry, not at Bucky, but at this person following them. They were starting to affect their personal life. Steve put his hands on Bucky's cheeks and pulled his face up until he was looking at him. "You don't need to be scared, we have each other. And lets face it, we're pretty badass."
