Two weeks later

"I want to get a job, Steve, I feel bad that I don't do anything to help out around here." Bucky said one day out of the blue.

"You don't need a job, Bucky. I still have my credit card from SHIELD. I don't even have a job." Steve said, not looking up from the book he was reading. "And do you really think you're ready to go out into the world again? I know you said HYDRA thinks you're dead but what if they're just waiting?" Steve finally looked up at Bucky who was standing on the other side of the coffee table, arms crossed.

"But I hate sitting around all day with nothing to do, I don't care if HYDRA's just waiting for me to step out alone. I want go places and be productive." Bucky looked annoyed and desperate.

"Okay, I tell you what, I'll go out and find you some job applications, I'll stop at the shelter and pick a volunteer form there too." Steve said putting his book down and standing up to go get ready.

"Thank you, Steve, and not just for this, for everything." Bucky said.

"It's okay Bucky, I'm with you till the end of the line remember?" Steve smiled at Bucky and walked into his bedroom, getting ready to go out.

Bucky was asleep in Steve's bed when he woke up to the front door slamming.

"Bucky! Come here I need your help with something!" Steve yelled to the back of the apartment. Bucky got out of bed with no shirt and a pair of low slung sweat pants.

"What do you need, Steve?" Bucky rubbed his eyes walked to the living room.

"I got a surprise while I was out, I thought it could really help you." Steve said, a small whine came from behind the sofa.

Bucky grinned as it clicked in his head what made the noise. "Steve you didn't." Bucky couldn't get his feet to move as Steve lifted the little three legged puppy from behind the sofa.

"Her name is Daisy." When Steve said her name she cocked her ears and reached to lick at his chin. Steve put Daisy on the ground and she hopped over to Bucky, licking and stepping on his feet.

"What breed is she?" Bucky asked sitting down and letting Daisy crawl into his lap.

"Two month old Newfoundland I thought she could help you out with that whole doing nothing thing." Steve said standing back and looking at the pair.

"Did you buy her a leash and collar?" Bucky asked as he picked her up and stood to look Steve in the eye.

"Yep, but I think we should get her used to it before we take her out, bring her over here." Bucky walked over to Steve and let him put on the pastel purple collar and matching leash. He handed Bucky the leash as he put Daisy on the floor. When Bucky tried walking back to the sofa Daisy sat down and refused to move, hunched over and pulling back against the leash. Bucky sat down on the floor and tried calling her over.

"Come on, girly, come'ere." Bucky had bent over his crossed legs as he sat on the floor. Daisy whined and scooted across the floor on her belly. "Good girl, Daisy, good girl." Bucky said quietly when Daisy made her way across the floor.

"Do you want to use treats when you train her?" Steve asked as he help up a box of peanut butter flavored dog treats.

"No, I don't want her to get used to that, I don't want her to expect a treat when ever she does something." Bucky scooted back another few feet and called over Daisy. She hobbled over with her head ducked and tail wagging instead of scooting across the floor.
