Two weeks ago, I was just playing basketball at the state championships. It was half time and then I get this urgent call saying my girlfriend, Riley, got a concussion and is being rushed to the hospital. I run out of the gym and leave my team behind. I got in my car and drove to the hospital as fast as I could.
Riley finally woke up today. Once Emily left and we were all alone I say, "Hey. Are you ok,"
"Yeah," she says but I can tell she's lying.
"You're not ok," I say, "I can tell. What's wrong?" She looked sad like she would start to cry.
"I don't know if I'll be able to play basketball again," she says bitterly. I felt really bad. Riley lived for basketball. She had been playing since she was born and basketball had been her life. She wanted to be a professional basketball player when she grew up. That's what I liked about her.
"I'm sorry," I say.
"It's fine," she says.
"Ok. I've got to go," I say, "Bye!" Right when I get up, Riley groaned and fainted! I yelled for a doctor. The doctors grabbed her and told me to get out. Then, I walked away.
Riley's POV
I woke up after I fainted. "What happened?" I asked the doctor.
"You were just tired," the doctor replied, "You're fine," But inside, I felt the opposite of fine. Then, I walked out of the hospital in the rain.
